Accident Investigation: (required by OSHA Directive - STD 3-1.1 appendix A, E 1.)

Reporting Accidents: Death or inpatient hospitalization of 3 or more employees within 24 hours to OSHA.

Worksite Hazard Analysis: required to identify all hazards and train employees in them. Simply training an employee that a hazard exists does not eliminate your responsibility to correct hazards. The hazard analysis must be continuous! The construction site is always changing and new hazards are formed due to new work or phases of construction. Planning of the construction allows you to anticipate future hazards; OSHA also requires training of the employee before exposure to the hazard! Use weekly toolbox briefings to train employees of the new or anticipated hazards. Additionally, old hazards go away due to completed work.

Note: a Job Safety Analysis is specifically required for installation and operation of resistance welding equipment - required by ANSI Z49.1, 5.5.1

Construction Safety Library: It is a myth that no contractor can comply with the thousands of OSHA requirements! Yes, OSHA has thousands of regulations for all construction jobs. But only a few OSHA standards apply to any one construction job. The trick is picking out the ones that do apply to your job.

OSHA standards: 1910 and 1926 - can't manage safety without them and must provide OSHA standards to your employees. You can get these at www.osha.gov .
