Tough Decisions-Chapter 3

By: Ananda Elena

Ananda watched the parking lot for Nick's Durango. He was supposed to pick her up, but of course he was late. As usual.

"Is he always like this?" Ananda's new freind Stacy asked her.

Ananda nodded. "Nickolas Carter has probably never know the meaning of 'on time'," she griped. She was sitting on the front steps of her high school with Stacy, Joe, Craig, Domingo, and Dalila. Ananda knew Brian would just hit the roof if he knew she was hanging out with them... actually Nick would probably freak the minute he saw them too. Let's just say, this was not the best crowd for Ananda to hang out with.

Stacy Harris was sixteen years old. She had her hair cut in a chin-length bob that she dyed blond, and she distinctly reminded most people of the girl on "The Faculty."

Joe Stevens was fifteen like Ananda. He always wore heavy Marilyn-Manson-type makeup, and usually got in trouble for it. He was currently going out with Dalila.

Dalila Johnson was also fifteen years old, with hair that she dyed blue. She wore thick, thick blue eyeliner and usually blue mascara. On a typical day her lips were blue also.

Craig Smith was as goth as Joe and Stacy, minus the face makeup. He was sixteen years old, like Stacy. This fit well, because, like Joe and Dalila, they were also a couple.

Domingo Cruz was the oldest of the group at the age of seventeen. On a typical day he wore his pants halfway down his butt, which was usually adorned with boxers that had pistols on them. Although he had a girlfriend, she went to a different school, and he was constantly trying to get Ananda to break up with Nick and go with him instead. But she never listened.

All five were heavily into drugs. Ananda had known that they were the five that Leighanne had seen smoking pot at the court yesterday. And Craig and Domingo had both been arrested numerous times. They were even on probation. Yep, Brian would definitly kill her if he knew she was hanging out with them... or maybe even worse... he'd send her back home to Mom and Dad and Harold in Kentucky. That'd mean no touring, no nice Florida sunshine... and worst of all, no Nick. But oh well. Despite her freinds, Ananda had never been high before and she swore to herself that she never would be. And as long as she stayed out of that situation, what was the problem? She didn't know that eventually there would be a big one.
