BJ heard Aaron's footsteps in the hallway, she rolled over and looked at her alarm clock it was nearly 2:30 in the morning what the hell was he doing up, she wondered as she climbed out of bed. "Aaron?" she whispered.
He turned around. "BJ what are you doing up?"
"I was about to ask you that."
"I couldn't sleep since E called me."
"Nick's friend E? Is he okay?" she asked suddenly worried.
Aaron smiled. "He's fine, she's making him come to the wedding."
"What?"
"She sent the RSVP, and bought him a plane ticket. I'm picking him up at the airport after lunch."
"No wonder you can't sleep."
"If you're up you want to watch some movies?" he asked, heading for the stairs.
"Yeah, I don't think I can sleep now either." BJ said happily. Finally her brother was coming home.
Nick yawned as his alarm went off and Journey filled his room, he picked up the stereo remote from the floor and turned the volume down, last thing he wanted was for his neighbors to complain. He laid there in bed for a few minutes still not believing that a few hours later he'd be in Tampa.
Han peeked in the nursery and saw Lis sound asleep in the rocking chair, Michael in her arms. She noticed Michael was awake so she tiptoed over and took him from her sister. "Here ya go Michael, back in your crib." she whispered as she tucked her nephew in. She turned back to her sister, "Lis?" She sighed in her sleep but didn't answer. Han grabbed a blanket from the corner and laid it over her sister then headed downstairs to make breakfast.
E knocked on Nick's door. It was almost eight and his flight was at eleven, she didn't think he'd have left yet. The door opened and there was Nick, in jeans with a toothbrush sticking out of his mouth.
"Morning." he mumbled.
E laughed as she walked by him inside the apartment. "Nice greeting Nick. Love that foaming at the mouth look you've got going, although I warn you...might scare your son."
"Funny, really funny!" Nick said heading into his bathroom.
"I kinda thought it was." E checked his bedroom and saw his half packed suitcase on his bed. "Aren't you packed yet Carter?"
He appeared behind her. "Does it look that way?"
"No."
Aaron walked down the hall to where he heard BJ singing. He leaned against the doorway of Nick's old room and saw BJ busily cleaning. "You're cleaning?" he asked, trying to hide his laughter.
BJ glanced over from where she was dusting the dresser. "Yeah only a little."
"I don't think he's going to notice it."
"You're probably right." BJ sat on the bed. "It's weird huh? He's finally coming back... he knows he's staying here right?"
"Probably." Aaron sat next to her. "Do you think I should take him by Lis'?"
"Straight off?" Aaron nodded. "I don't know, I mean that might shock Lis if she doesn't even know he's in town."
"True it's just he doesn't have a lot of time...I don't want him to waste it."
BJ sighed. "I know but I can't see her not taking him back."
Lis woke up to the sound of the phone ringing. She looked around and noticed Michael wasn't in her arms and she nearly panicked until she realized he was in his crib. She set the blanket down and went downstairs, finding Han in the kitchen. "Hey Han."
"Morning." Han said, smiling at her sister.
"Who called?" Lis asked, grabbing the box of cereal from the counter.
"Shan, she can't go to the park with you today because she has something to do that's a surprise but she'll see you tonight for dinner. Then Aaron called and said he might have a surprise for you later too."
Lis sighed. "Don't they know I hate surprises?" she whined.
Han laughed. "I'm sure they're good surprises. Probably something about the wedding."
Lis raised an eyebrow. "Han, this is Shan and AC we're talking about."
"Oh right. Well maybe they won't be bad."
"Sure." Lis said sarcastically. "What are you doing today? Want to come with me and Michael to the park?"
"I'd love to, but I've got plans." she smiled.
"Oh no, what's his name?" Lis teased.
"What? Who said it was a he? And we're just going to the beach for a few hours so I can watch Michael if you want tonight."
"Don't rush home because of me." Lis said, "I guess I'll see you later."
Han nodded. "Have fun at the park." and with that she grabbed her totebag and left.
Nick packed his suitcase and looked at E sitting on his bed eating a bagel. "I'll never forgive you for this you know."
"The smile on your face is thanks enough." she said sweetly.
Nick groaned. "I am not smiling."
E laughed. "You will be, I bet by tonight that Carter smile will have returned."
He rolled his eyes. "Whatever you say..." he shut his suitcase and fell back on the bed. "What if she hates me E?" he whispered.
She stared down at him startled. "How could she hate you?"
His eyes slowly opened. "She gave up on me...she's marrying B."
"Ever think maybe she's just doing that for something to do?" E teased.
"You're trying to say I'm stupid am I right?"
"Well you are acting awfully blonde right now." she stated. "Hurry up, your flight leaves in like two hours!!"
Nick jumped off the bed. "Two hours? Man I still need the camcorder and that tape and..." he started rattling things off and E couldn't help laughing.
Brian stared at the RSVP in his hands, he didn't know what to do. He wanted to tell Lis but he didn't want to. He shook his head, he'd take a day or two and sort it out himself before telling her. Afterall Nick was probably going to show up right before the wedding then go who knows where again, he picked up his jacket and left the house to run some errands.
