Brian knocked on the girls' door, knowing that's where Nick and KC were.
A few moments later, Nick opened the door. He looked a little upset.
"Hey man! Can we talk to KC for a sec?" Brian asked. Nick looked back into
the room. Then he looked back at Brian.
"Okay. Come on in" he murmered, opening the door. Brian stepped in the room,
with Laney following close behind him. KC was sitting on the corner of her bed,
with her arms crossed across her chest. Laney stayed standing behind Brian.
Since she was so small, only 5'2, she was completely covered by Brian. KC
stood up and glared at Laney.
"Laney. What are you doing here?" she snapped. Brian licked his lips.
"KC, she wants to say sorry to you. Just hear her out, okay?" he replied.
Brian found himself being kind of afraid of KC. She was bitterly angry.
Brian stepped to his right so that Laney could be seen. Laney took a deep breath.
"Look KC. I'm sorry for saying that to Nick. But I seriously thought that he
liked you. But he doesn't. And you kind of blew this whole thing out of
proportion. You're my best friend and I wouldn't be able to live with myself if you
can't forgive me. I love you like a sister and it would kill me if our
friendship ended. Please think before you push me out of your life. Please KC" Laney
replied. KC just stared at her. HEr expression didn't change at all. Laney's heart sank,
knowing KC wouldn't forgive her.
"Come on Brian. Let's go" she said turning to the door. Brian shrugged at Nick and
followed Laney outside. When they were in the hall, Laney started crying.
"Why can't she just forgive me?" she cried. Brian sighed.
"I don't know Laney. That was a great speech. If she can't notice how sorry you are,
she isn't worth your tears" he said. Then he gave her a big hug. Laney almost melted
on the spot. The hug lasted only 30 seconds. Laney held back her sudden rush of energy.
They began walked back to the elevator. Brian had his arm around her shoulders, casually.
"Laney?" a voice said behind them. Brian and Laney both turned around. KC was standing outside
her room, with Nick standing behind her. KC was crying.
"Oh Laney!" she cried. KC sprang forward and ran to Laney. She wrapped her arms around her.
Both girls were crying loudly. Brian and Nick rolled their eyes at eachother. Nick stood beside Brian.
"Why do girls cry like that all the time?" he whispered. Brian shrugged.
"Hormones, I guess" he replied. Nick chuckled and the girls pulled apart.
"I'm so sorry for spazing out like that on you. Let's promise never to fight like that again, okay?"
KC gushed through tears. Laney smiled.
"Never again" she said. Brian and Nick were already walking down the hall to the elevator. When they heard
the girls not talking, they stood in the middle of the hallway, looking impatient.
"Are you girls done?" Nick replied, putting his hands on his hips. Brian looked up at the ceiling, looking
bored. It was obviously staged. The girls humoured them.
"And what if we aren't?" Laney asked whiping the tears from her eyes. Brian groaned and stormed down the hall
toward the girls. He put Laney in a headlock and started dragging her down the hall. Laney was
giggling.
"Too late, honey. You're coming with me" Brian growled, pulling Laney to the elevator. Nick and Kc were right behind them.
Nick pushed the down button. Brian still had Laney in a headlock. The elevator opened and Brian pulled Laney in to the closed
space. The other two came in after them. Nick wondered why Brian wouldn't let Laney go.
"Uhh, Brian?" Laney asked. Brian looked down at her.
"What?" he said. Laney bit her lip.
"Uhh...can you let me go? You're scaring me" she whimpered. Brian laughed and released Laney from the headlock.
Laney straightened up and fixed the collar on her shirt. Nick raised his eyebrows at Brian. Brian groaned.
"Oh geez Nick! She's just a friend! You were doing worse things to KC earlier!" he exclaimed. Nick glared at Brian and closed his eyes
in annoyment. He opened his mouth to speak, but KC interrupted him.
"Guys don't. We've had enough stupid fights today" KC replied. Brian and Nick looked at the floor, guilty. The elevator opened and
everyone walked out. They walked into the Living Room and Laney almost fell down. Sitting on the couch, was AJ and Ashley.
They were involved in a passionate kiss!
