Laney's mom pulled up in the parking lot. She got out and opened up the trunk. Laney led the others to the van. Her mom was staring at the guys. She leaved over to whisper to Laney.
"Why do I recognize them?" she asked. Laney giggled as she put her suitcase in the trunk.
"Because it's the Backstreet Boys!" she exclaimed. Her mother just stared at her. Brian came beside Laney and put his arm around her waist.
"Hi, I'm Brian. You must be Laney's mother" he explained, politely. Mrs. Finch eyed Brian and shook his hand. She took Laney aside.
"Are you and him...you know...together?" she whispered. Laney looked at Brian, who was putting suitcases into the trunk. She smiled and nodded.
"Yeah" she replied. Her mother smiled and put her arms around her daughter.
"Good choice. He seems sweet" she said. Laney laughed.
"Mom, you just met him! How can you tell already?!" she asked. Mrs. Finch laughed.
"It's a mom thing" she replied. Then she walked back to the van to help load the luggage.
After signing out and saying goodbye to Kevin, Mary and Alyssa, everyone piled in the van.
"Everyone buckled up?" Mrs. Finch yelled. There were some clicks of seatbelts.
"YES MOM!" everyone yelled to the front.
It took 3 hours to get to Laney's house. It was pretty big. Everyone piled out and unloaded the luggage. Brian stretched in the driveway.
"I hate unpacking! I do too much of it!" he whined. Laney laughed and walked into her house. Brian followed close behind.
After getting a tour of the house, everyone sat down in Laney's Living Room. Living Rooms seemed to be the happening hangout for them! Nick sat beside KC on the floor. He smiled at her. KC gave him a disturbed look.
"What?" she said. Nick smiled again.
"I gotta tell you something" he said, grinning playfully. KC smiled. "What do you want to tell me?" she said, sighing. Nick leaned over to whisper in her ear.
"I like you" he whispered. Then he went back to his former position. KC was frozen to her spot. She couldn't talk. She just stared right ahead, shocked. She must've been staring for a while because she heard Nick calling her.
"KC? Are you okay?" he asked. KC shook her head no.
"No I'm not. It took you way too long to figure that out" she said. Nick shook his head.
"Actually, I've known since I met you. I'm just not the most outgoing when it comes to asking girls out" he explained. KC smiled.
"You're asking me out?" she asked. Nick nodded.
"Yeah. What do you say? I know I won't see you a whole lot but that shouldn't matter very much because if we're dedicated enough, we can make it through, right? Just remember that the longer we're away from each other the better it'll be when we get together again, so if -" Nick was cut off by KC putting a finger to his mouth.
"Stop talking for one second. I'll go out with you, you don't need to explain yourself" KC replied, with her finger still on Nick's mouth. She slowly took it off, pausing on his bottom lip, thoughtfully. Nick smiled.
"Good" he said. Nick took around the empty room. "Where'd everyone go?" he asked. KC smiled. Everyone had left the room when they started talking. But they were listening from around the corner. Brian smiled at Laney.
"I knew he'd do it someday" he said. Laney turned to him.
"Oh you did? How come you didn't do anything about it?" she said, playfully. Brian grinned.
"What? And miss this? Not in a lifetime!" he exclaimed. Laney laughed and kissed Brian's cheek. Brian gave her a disturbed look.
"What was that for?" he asked. Laney shrugged.
"Cuz you're acting cute" she replied. Brian looked at her for a moment.
"Uh... I gotta go!" he exclaimed. Then he put on a cheeky smile and ran off like a scared little child.
