Brian was in his room, pacing back and forth across it, rubbing his temples. It wasn't just about Laney and Jason. But mostly about how bad he had treated her. It was obvious that she liked him, even if it was a 'fan crush.' Brian was too proud to tell the other guys what just happened. Especially not Kevin. If the words that Kevin had said were spoken by anyone else, they wouldn't have made such an impact on him. As Brian sat down on his bed to think, there was a soft knock on the door.
"Brian?" a voice called. It was Laney. Brian got up and opened the door. Laney stood in the hall, biting her nails.
"Hi Laney" he said plainly, looking right past her. Laney took a step forward.
"Can I come in?" he asked quietly. Brian opened the door wider and stepped aside to let her come in. There was a moment of silence before Brian broke the ice.
"Why did you come up here?" he asked dryly. Laney was shocked, she could hear the anger in his voice.
"I came because I don't want ou to be mad at me" he said. Brian sighed and laughed.
"You're the one whose supposed to be mad. I'm just here for your amusement" he joked. Laney didn't even smile, even more silence followed.
"So... what do you want me to do? I like Jason a lot. But..." she started. Laney stopped herself. Brian gave her a confused look.
"But what?" Laney bit her lip. Then she sat down on the edge of Brian's bed.
"But... oh Brian, I don't know! I can't think right now!" she exclaimed, putting her head in her hands. Brian knew he would have to be patient. Laney was a complicated girl, very hard to figure out.
"Okay" he said. Laney stood up, touched his hand gently - a chill went up his spine at her touch.
"Goodbye Brian" she said opening the door. She turned around and waved. Then walked out the door, closing it behind her. Brian rubbed his face, then laid down on his bed, suddenly feeling extremely tired. Soon, he drifted off to sleep...
MEANWHILE...
"So what are you gonna do?" KC asked Laney. Laney shrugged. She, KC and Ashley had gone up to their room to talk. So much had happened in 2 days.
"Well, I think you'd better decide. There's two guys who would die for you, which one do you love?" Ashley asked. Laney sighed loudly.
"I can't believe I'm even doing this??! If only this happened before I met Jason. It would've made everything so much easier" she explained. KC licked her lips and smiled.
"What do you think Nick's doing right now?" KC asked, dreamily. Ashley laughed at her upcoming joke.
"Probably with another girl" she joked. KC groaned and threw her pillow at Ashley, who screamed and threw it back at her. Laney was sitting at the foot of her bed, thinking. She hadn't told Jason that she was considering Brian. She told him before that she was over him... she wasn't too sure anymore...
MEANWHILE...
"Where's Rok?" asked AJ, looking around. Nick burst out laughing.
"He's been gone for almost an hour and you just noticed it now? Geez! Ashley's got you majorly whipped!" he exclaimed. AJ shook his head.
"She does not have me whipped. I just... I just like her a lot!" he said.
"Has anyone else noticed how quiet KC is now?" Nick asked. The rest shook their heads. Howie smiled.
"You like her don't you Nick!" he cried. Nick smiled and he blushed.
"Yeah I do. She's cute" he said. The others snickered.
"What?!" he shouted, smiling. More laughter. Then the girls came in. AJ stood up and met Ashley halfway.
"Hey baby!" he said. Ashley smiled. Laney closed her eyes, not wanting to see their embrace. She followed KC to the others.
"Hey girls!" Howie said happily. Laney looked around for either Brian or Jason. Neither were around. Jason must be with his family, she thought sitting in a chair.
MEANWHILE (again...)...
Brian was awoken by a heavy knocking on the door. Thinking it was Laney, he jumped out of bed, and flung the door open. It wasn't Laney; it was Jason. And he was glaring at Brian menacely.
"Who do you think you are?" Jason growled, walking into Brian's room. He slammed the door behind him. Brian felt intimidated. Jason was like 6'2 and very well built - where's Nick when you need him??!!
"I'm Brian...??" he said casually. Jason rolled his eyes.
"No kidding Buddy. Who do you think you are trying to take Laney from me? She's my girl now. You lost your chance" Jason snarled. Brian stood tall.
"I'm not trying to take Laney from you. Whatever she decides happens. I'm not making her choose me" Brian explained. Jason raised an eyebrow at him.
"She won't choose you. You weren't there when she was crying about you ditching her: I was. I'm the caring guy who was her shoulder to cry on. If she picks you, she'll be cheating herself" Jason remarked. Brian's expression didn't change.
"And your point is...??" he demanded. Jason glared at Brian and roughly grabbed his wrist.
"My point is, you better stop being such a jerk and realize who Laney really loves: ME!" he growled. Jason let go of Brian's wrist and with one more menacing look, left the room.
MEANWHILE...
"WHERE IS BRIAN??!!" Nick yelled impatiently. Dinner was starting and Brian still hadn't showed.
"Calm down Nick! I doubt he'll come for dinner" Howie said, looking at Laney, who looked down. She was sitting beside KC and Kevin.
"I don't care! I need to talk to him! I'll be back in a few minutes!" Nick cried, standing up. He half-ran-half-walked to the elevator. It opened, and there was Jason.
"Hello pretty boy" he said. Nick bit his lip and walked into the elevator.
"Where ya headed?" he asked as the doors closed. Nick pointed up.
"To Brian's room" he said, refusing to look at Jason. He seemed to have a problem with him. Only him and Brian. The other guys he seemed friendly enough with. Jason laughed.
"I was there a while ago. Man, that guy is such a wimp!" he said. Nick was silent.
"Tell Laney I'll see her later, okay?" Jason ordered when the elevator doors opened. Nick nodded, certain he wouldn't say anything to Laney. He's such a jerk! The doors opened on Nick's floor. He stepped out and headed down the hall to Brian's room. He knocked on the door.
"Brian?" he said. No answer. Nick knocked louder. Still silence. The door was locked, and there was no other way into the room.
"Come on Brian! It's Nick! Open the door!" he yelled. No response. Where is he??!! Nick banged on the door once more.
