Snow Drifts-Chapter 1

By: Kara

Nick jumped off the tour bus that seemed to take him everywhere. He nearly fell in the pile of snow at the side of the vehicle. Brian chuckled quietly behind me. Nick heard him though.
"Oh shut up Brian. You know you'd do the same thing" he said regaining his balance. Brian smiled. Then he stepped off the bus and immediately fell in the snow! Nick burst out laughing. Brian blushed and brushed himself off.
"LOOK AT THAT MOUNTAIN!!" shreaked Howie as he climbed off the bus. He didn't fall. Howie pointed at the enormous mountain in the distance. The Boys had a week off and decided to go skiing in the mountains of British Columbia. They heard that the skiing was wonderful up there in the winter.
Brian and Nick were already walking towards the wooden lodge where they'd be staying. This was to be one of the first times that the Boys would be left alone without Bodyguards. They called the lodge earlier that week, making sure not to book anyone in there for a week. That way, they could have their privacy, without the crazed fans!!

In 5 minutes, the bus was gone. It was scheduled to return a week later. From there, they'd continue their Canadian tour in Vancouver.
Kevin had somehow gotten ahead of Brian and Nick. They seemed to be goofing around too much to care. Kevin reached the lodge first. He walked through the Lobby and to the front desk. A gray haired woman sat behind the large wooden desk. She was busily typing on her keyboard.
"May I help you?" she asked, not looking up from the computer screen. Kevin set down his bags and folded his arms on the counter.
"Yeah. We have reservations here" he explained. The woman nodded her head. Then she typed on the keyboard for a few moments.
"Yes. You must be part of that musical group that was supposed to come" she said, standing up. Kevin nodded. She walked to a glass case behind her that was full of gold keys. She retrieved 5 keys from it. She set them on the counter.
"I'm afraid I have some bad news. We were unable to keep the lodge unbooked for the week. It's a popular time of year for us. I'm terribly sorry. But I doubt our guests will be too much of a problem". Kevin bit his lip.
"Hold on a sec, please" he said. Kevin walked out of the lodge where the others were. He told them the bad news. None of them seemed too upset.
"Let's just hope there's no fans here" Brian replied. Then everyone walked back into the lodge. The lady was typing on her keyboard once again.
"It's not problem. Thank you for trying never-the-less" Kevin announced, politely. The woman smiled slightly and came out from behind the counter. She handed Howie the keys. Then she walked to the elevator, telling the Boys to follow her. The elevator doors opened and it was empty. They rode to the 3rd floor where their rooms were. Howie took room #303. Kevin took room #304. Brian took room #305. AJ took room #306. And Nick took room #307. After everyone was settled in their rooms, it was time to tour the lodge. They went up a floor and walked on to the fourth floor. Making lots of noise. Suddenly, a door opened down the hall. A head popped out. It was a girl. She looked straight at the Boys and her eyes popped open. She let out a loud squeal and slammed the door again. There were loud, excited voices from the room.
"I think that was a fan guys. Do you wanna run?" Nick whispered. Brian shook his head.
"Why would we run? It's only one fan!" he stated. Finally the door slowly opened. Out walked 3 girls. Each looked scared and uncomfortable. Each couldn't stop staring.
AJ decided to talk to them. He walked up to the girls and stuck his hand out, smiling. The rest of the Boys followed behind him.
"Hello ladies. My name is AJ McLean. How ya doin' today?" he introduced. Brian found it a little twisted that AJ decided to introduce himself. It was obvious that they knew who the Boys were. The girls just stared. Finally one of the girls shook AJ's hand. She had long brown hair and bright reen eyes.
"We're fine. My name is KC Summers, this is Laney Finch" she replied pointing to the short blonde girl beside her. "And that's Ashley Jones" she continued pointing to the tall blonde on the other side of her. "We're 18 and we're skiing alone." AJ was amazed. he hadn't expected such a long speech! But he shook the other girls' hands also. Each boy shook each of the girls' hands. It was obvious that the girls wanted hugs, but it was a different situation with these girls. Nick could tell that this wouldn't be the last time they'd talk to the 3 girls. Not by a long shot.
