Shattered Dreams-Chapter 5

By: Panda Angel

I woke up the next morning and climbed out of my huge bed that had a purple silk comforter and a canopy above the bed. I brushed my hair and ran downstairs to find AJ scrambling eggs on the stove. I smiled and walked over behind him, wrapped my arms around his waist and kissed his neck softly.
“Morning sexy!” he said, chuckling slightly.
“Morning baby! Did you sleep well?” I asked, making small talk while he finished cooking our breakfast.
“Yes, but I would’ve slept better if you were in there,” AJ grinned and glanced at me out of the corner of his eye, while pouring us each a glass of orange juice.
“AJ, I’ve already told you. We’re not sleeping in the same bed until we’re married. End of discussion. Will you hand me a napkin please?” I asked, changing the subject, taking a bit of my eggs.
“I know, Lexi. I was just messin’ with ya! Did you like sleeping in your new bed?” he asked, handing me a napkin.
“Yes, I did! It’s so comfy! I could’ve slept all day because I really dread unpacking all of my clothes,” I whined, looking into the box cluttered living room.
“I would help you, but it looks like you’re on your own today. I know we’re supposed to be on vacation and all, but there’s one little thing that I have to work on in the studio today,” AJ informed me, finishing up his breakfast.
“Do you have to??” I whined, giving him my best pouty face.
“Yes, I’m sorry. Actually, I’m going to work with a producer about my new song. The rest of the guys aren’t going to be in the studio…just me.”
“Aww…my poor baby. You’re always working so hard!” I walked over beside of my boyfriend, giving him a hug.
“Yep, well, that’s my life. I’m gonna go. See ya later, honey,” he said kissing me on the lips and leaving.
I watched him go down the driveway from the kitchen window and then cleaned up the kitchen a bit. I grabbed an outfit of mine out of one of my many suitcases and ran upstairs into my new bedroom to change. I pulled on a pair of cut-off jean shorts and a peach colored tank top with little flowers on it. I walked downstairs and attempted to pull the suitcases upstairs into my bedroom, but they were way too heavy for me. There was only one thing for me to do….
“Please Nick! I really need to unpack this stuff and I can’t carry it upstairs! Please!!!” I begged my best friend over the telephone.
Finally after much persuasion he agreed and 15 minutes later, I saw his Durango pull into the driveway.
“Thank you so much!” I greeted him, running out to him, throwing my arms around his neck.
“Okay, okay…let’s just get this over, puleeze! This is my day off and I’m stuck here helping you!” he continued to complain as we walking into the living room.
“Oh hush! You know you wanted to help!” I grinned, as we started taking things upstairs.
“Whoa! Nice room…” Nick admired, looking around.
“Isn’t it, though?! AJ decorated it himself,” I beamed proudly thinking of my sweet boyfriend.
“Yeah, I’m surprised that the walls aren’t like zebra stripes or something!” he joked.
“I know! I was a bit surprised myself at how nice everything looks. Well, c’mon, let’s go get the rest of the stuff,” I turned to leave the room.
After a few more trips, Nick and I finally had everything in my bedroom. Now, the only task left was to unpack it all…
