Shattered Dreams-Chapter 4

By: Panda Angel

A week later I found myself moving into AJ’s very massive house.
“Is that everything?” AJ yelled from inside his lavish home.
“Yeah, that’s the last of it,” I sighed, slamming the trunk of my Camaro shut and walking into my new home.
I flopped down onto the red velvet couch beside of my boyfriend and looked around his living room that was covered in boxes filled with my stuff.
“I never knew moving was such hard work!” I exclaimed lying back against AJ’s strong chest.
“Me either! You wanna unpack those boxes now or later?” he asked as I listened to the words echo throughout his chest.
“Did you have to remind me? I’m too tired to unpack. I’m starving, though!” I replied instantaneously placing my hand on my tummy.
“Well…why don’t you go take a shower and relax while I cook dinner?” AJ suggested.
“That sounds wonderful! Your bathroom is the fifth door on the right, right?” I double-checked.
“No, our bathroom is the fifth on the left,” he corrected me smiling.
I went into the bathroom and took a nice long, hot bubble bath to relax my sore muscles. I climbed out of the oversized tub and realized that I had no clothes to wear! I wrapped a towel firmly around me and stepped outside into the hall. I called for my boyfriend several times, but didn’t get a reply. I started to walk into the living room to get one of my suitcases when someone grabbed me from behind. I screamed and jabbed whoever it was in the side with my elbow. As soon as I was released, I turned around to find AJ kneeling in pain.
“Oh baby, I’m so sorry!” I clasped my hand over my mouth and fell to the floor beside of him. “Are you okay?”
“Yes, I’m fine. Man, Lexi, you’ve gotta chill. Who did you think I was?” AJ got up from the floor and stood beside of me.
“I don’t know. I’m sorry. I was just a little paranoid walking around in my towel, ya know?”
“Yeah, here,” he said pushing some clothes into my hands. “They’re mine, but you can wear them until you unpack.”
“Thanks. I’ll be out in a minute,” I said standing on my tip toes to give him a light kiss on the the cheek, allowing his goatee to rub across my chin, sending a tingle down my spine.
A few minutes later I walked out of the bathroom clad in a pair of blue, green, and gray plaid Tommy boxers and a gray Ralph Lauren Polo t-shirt with my hair up in a butterfly clip.
“Dinner is served my lady,” AJ said pulling out a chair for me at our glass table. There were two candles lit in the center of the table around a vase of fresh tulips, which were my fave flowers.
“This smells delicious!” I complimented, still amazed at all the trouble he had gone to just to please me.
“Just wait ‘til you try it,” he smiled proudly, putting some lasagna on both of our plates. I took a bite of it and looked up to find AJ staring at me anxiously.
“Well?” he asked.
“It tastes delicious, as well. Now, sit down and eat dinner with me,” I said, grabbing his hand and pulling him down beside of me.
“Okay, okay. Wait! We have to make a toast,” AJ declared, getting a bottle of wine. After AJ poured our glasses he continued, “Here’s to having our first of many dinners to come in our home.”
