After getting our hair, make-up, and clothes done, Sam and I were ready. We were so thrilled to be working with them! Sam went up to the top of the tower to get to Brian’s room and I went down to Nick’s room.
Sam walked in to see Brian and his dog Tyke relaxing on the bed. She grinned at the sight of Brian rubbing his dog behind the ear. Brian didn’t hear her come in. Sam walked up behind him and put her hands over his eyes and whispered sweetly in his ear, “Guess who?” Brian took her hands and kissed them and motioned for her to sit on the bed with him. No sooner had she sat down when Tyke started licking her hands and face. She giggled as Brian commented, “Oooh…I see someone else likes ya, too!” Sam looked up at Brian and gave him a peck on the lips before jumping up to get ready for the shoot.
I walked cooly into Nick’s room decorated with shaggy white carpet. I scanned the room and didn’t see anyone. I walked on in, looking at pictures of all the guys on the wall when Nick sneaked up behind me and scared me. I was so startled that I screamed! I spun around to find Nick laughing at me and then he grabbed me into his strong arms and tickled me to the ground!
“Oh Nick! Nick stop!” I screamed gasping for air and straining to pull out of his reach.
“No way, hon!” he laughed.
After what seemed like an eternity, he backed off so I could catch my breath. My hair was all tousled and my shirt was untucked because of rolling on the floor so much. I stood up and examined myself in the mirror, trying my best to fix my hair. Nick gave me a strange look and laughed. He walked over to the mirror and stood behind me. As I was messing with my hair, he leaned his head on my shoulder and placed his arms around my waist. Chills ran down my spine because he was sooo close. He took one of his hands and lightly brushed my hair off of my neck sending shivers through my body and he gently kissed my neck, moving toward my cheek, and finally to my lips. He pressed his lips hard against mine and wrapped his arms all around me. My body went numb…I couldn’t feel anything except love for this perfect creature who was embracing me with all he felt inside.
The director, Nigel Dick rushed in and in his accent demanded that we get started filming the video. I took my place on the floor near Nick. Sam was upstairs preparing for her scene with Brian.
The music started and the guys started singing. Though I couldn’t hear all of them, I sure could hear Nick! Since the video is supposed to be lip-synced, Nick was singing ever-so-quietly, yet with such power and emotion. I was so enraptured by their singing because I had never heard the Backstreet Boys sing before.
I can’t describe what I was feeling inside to hear these five gorgeous guys singing like angels. I honestly felt as if I were in heaven. I would have gladly portrayed Nick’s girlfriend without pay, but hey, now I get to be his girlfriend 24/7 for free!!
