Here We Go-Chapter 17

By: Chesa

"Mr. Carter and Mr. McLean may recieve visitors now." the nurse told Amber and Rachelle. Amber and Rachelle practically sprinted to Nick's room, which was three doors down from Brian's room. Amber walked in, Rachelle was gonna give her a couple minutes to be alone, then come in. Like in Brian's room, the lights were dimmed and the sound of the beeping monitor and Nick's breathing were the only sounds to be heard. Amber saw Nick laying on the bed with tubes everywhere. She walked over to Nick, too stunned to cry quite yet... He looked so pale, so life-less. Amber bent down and kissed his cheek as tears formed in her eyes. Amber had really never had any brushes with death with her family or friends before, so this was far from an ordinary feeling for her. Chesa on the other hand had lost a friend in middle school and her grandmother, not to mention that her dad had had surgery for cancer when she was younger. Amber looked down at the IV tube that was going into his arm and almost threw-up. She rested her head on his bed as she sat in a chair, holding his hand. Rachelle came in and walked over. Knowing that any words could send Amber into a never ending sob, Rach stayed silent and just patted Amber's shoulder. Rach looked through the small window of the door and saw Chesa pass, most likely to go see AJ. Chesa walked down to AJ's room and walked in, expecting the worst.
AJ looked so different...Chesa couldn't figure it out until she was standing right beside him, AJ was so pale, and his tattoo's looked like they had been painted on with acrylic paint. Chesa sat down in the chair beside the bed and began talking to him.
"Hey Bone." She started, sniffling, "It's me, Chesa. What's up man?...You look really jacked up, but you'll be ok. You're Bone, Bone always comes out on top...Always forever. Now, I know that if you were here that you wouldn't want me to cry and be upset, but, let's analyze the situation; Not only are you, my best friend, in a coma, but so is Brian...and Nick who has also become a good friend. So really, there's not much too say on that. But...I know you'll be ok, I'm positive." Chesa kept repeating.
