I was tossing, and turning. I couldn't sleep,
because when Alyson asked me if I would take her
father back, it brought up all these thoughts that I
had never had before. I knew it wouldn't happen, but I
still couldn't help but wonder. What if someday he did
come back? Not because he wanted to be together
again, but because he wanted Alyson? I couldn't bear
the thought of losing her too. I got up out of bed,
and put on my robe. It was 2:30 in the morning. I
had been trying to sleep for hours. I figured I might
as well go get some sleeping pills out of the
bathroom. I needed at least a few hours of sleep
before my huge meeting in the morning.
As I padded down the hallway, I passed by
Alyson's room. Her tv was on, so I went in there to
turn it off (making a mental note to myself to mention
sleeping with her tv on in the morning to her). As I
walked up to the tv to shut it off, a familiar face
appeared on the screen, talking to a reporter for
MTV. The name flashed on the bottom of the screen.
"Kevin Richardson?" I immediatly had to sit
down, I lost all feeling in my legs. I hadn't seen
him in years, and a few hours before, my daughter
reminded me he even existed. And here he was, 14
years older than the last time I had seen him, and he
still looked as gorgous as I remembered. He was
talking about how he was planning on making a comeback
into the music business by not only singing as a solo
act, but producing, and writing songs. I felt as if I
were 16 years old again. As soon as the interview was
off, I turned off the tv, and slowly left Alyson's room.
"Kevin Richardson... wow" I whispered to myself as
I turned on the light in the bathroom. I knew I
absolutely had to take those pills now, there was no
way I would be able to sleep on my own. So many
thoughts filled my head, was he married, what ever
happened to the Backstreet Boys, did he still live in
Florida... he was the whole reason I came to college
down here. I never got to even so much as meet him
though. I shut off the light, and went back to my
bedroom. I had to get some sleep. I worked as a
music management assistant, and the next morning, I had
a meeting with a new client. I didn't want to meet
them with bags under my eyes. As soon as I hit the
pillow, I instantly fell asleep.
