Breathe-Chapter 1

“Aw, don’t be sad, honey. I’ll be back in two weeks!” Michael comforted, clasping his hand over his girlfriend’s.
Jillian nodded, quickly wiping a tear away before it had yet formed, and sniffled. “I’ll miss you, “ she said, looking into Michael’s crystal blue eyes.
He looked back into her deep green eyes and repeated, “I’ll miss you, too.” The couple held each other close in the airport for a moment, oblivious to the world around them. “I’m sorry baby, but I have to go now,” Michael broke away for a moment.
“Aww…” Jillian whined, her perfect lips protruding into a pout.
“I know, I know…” Michael walked back and pulled his girlfriend tightly to him. “I love you and I’ll miss you.”
“I love you, too…” Jillian called after her boyfriend as he boarded the plane to Huntington Beach. As soon as those four words left her mouth Jillian wondered if she really meant them.
Michael was a year older than Jillian making him 26. The two had known each other in high school and had dated ever since Jillian’s junior year. He took her to his prom and vice versa. They were the perfect couple until Jillian started to attend college in Florida. Once she was there, she experienced parties, new guys, new places, and new people. Eventually the long distance relationship, from California to Florida, became a problem and Jillian broke it off with Michael and fell in love with another guy. The guy who had her heart two years ago and who still had it now…
For a short time in Jillian’s often troubled life, she was genuinely happy with her new life and love in Florida. Though, things didn’t last that way forever and Jillian and her new found love parted ways. Michael had never really stopped loving his high school sweetheart. So, after going to school in Chicago for a while, he moved to Florida to resume his relationship with Jillian. The two had been together again for the past three months…only two years after her painful break up with her Florida love.
