The next day the whole camp was going to the county fair. "Hey baby." Nick said as Francesca got on the bus and sat next to him. "Hi sweetie." She replied, putting her head on his shoulder. Nick put his arm around her. "Are you ok?" he asked. "Yea.. it’s just too early for me." She replied. "Try to fall asleep." Nick said, kissing her forehead. "Yea." She said yawning, as Nick rested his head on hers and soon they fell asleep. Lysa got on the bus and quick took out her camera. "Aww, that is soooo cute! AJ why can’t you be like that?" she said taking a picture of Nick and Francesca fast asleep in each other’s arms. "I am like that… you just didn’t give me a chance to show ya." AJ said as he sat down in the seat in front of Nick and Francesca. "Really?" Lysa asked. "Well, come here and I’ll show ya." AJ said. Lysa sat down and AJ put his arms around her. "See." AJ said. "Yup, this is nice." Lysa replied. "Yes it is." AJ said as Lysa put her head on his shoulder.
When they got to the fair, the counselor told them they had to check in at 2pm and 6pm at the merry-go-round. Then everyone got off of the bus and went their separate ways. Kevin and Howie went over to the food tent, and Brian tagged along with Nick and Francesca. Lysa and AJ went to get their wrist bands stamped, then went to the craft tent. "This stuff is for girls." AJ said, looking at a decorated picture frame. "Hey. What’s that supposed to mean? I do stuff like this…well not like that…" Lysa said, pointing to the frame AJ was holding, "…but I’m into art." Lysa said. "Oh sorry. I mean…what guy would buy this?" AJ said, showing her a heart shaped mirror. "Who said guys have to buy it…come on lets go…you obviously aren’t going to enjoy yourself in here." Lysa said taking his hand. "Sorry babe." AJ said. "Yea, yea…" Lysa said, as they walked over to the Ferris wheel.
"Hey guys." AJ said, coming up behind Nick, Francesca, and Brian, who were standing in line for the Ferris wheel. "Hey." They responded. When they got up to the front of the line, Brian looked around, and curled his lip. "What’s wrong B?" Nick asked. "I don’t have anyone to sit with…" Brian pouted. "Aww. Poor Bri." Francesca said sympathetically. "Hey B. Check out this girl. Maybe you’ll get to sit with her…I think she’s alone too." AJ said, pointing to the girl behind them. Brian’s eyes lit up. "Yea…maybe." He said, with a grin, "You two get in front of me." Brian said, letting them move up in line. When it was Brian’s turn to get on, the guy running the ride asked if he was with the girl that was next to him. Brian turned to her, "Wanna join me?" he asked. "Sure." She answered, and they got on the ride. "I’m Brian. But, my friends call me Bri." Brian said, his hand outstretched. "I’m Nicolette…my friends call me Nick." She said, shaking Brian’s hand. "Really? One of my best friends name is Nick." Brian said with a smile. "Yea? That’s cool." She said, returning his smile. "You from around here?" Brian asked. "No." she said, "I’m in from Connecticut. My dad lives down here. My brother and I are with him for the summer. Are you from around here?" she asked. "Nah…I’m from Idaho. I come here for summer camp." Brian said. "I see." She said. When the ride was over, they got off and Nicolette took Brian to meet her dad and brother, Anthony.
It was close to 2 o’clock so Brian left to meet the other guys before they went to check in. "So did you two hit it off?" AJ asked, when Brian joined the group. "Yup. She gave me her number." Brian said, with a big smile. "Well you seem happy, but we have to go or we’ll get in trouble…" Kevin said. "Yea yea…" AJ said turning to Brian, "So come on tell me more, tell me more…" AJ begged as they walked towards the merry-go-round.
