It as the summer after sophomore year. Nickolas Gene Carter and Alison Hope MacLaren absolutely hated each other since 3rd grade.
Ali's parents and Nick's parents were best friends. They left
for the summer taking all the other kids with. Ali had a boyfriend
and didn't want to leave him.
Nick was resting before he left for his European tour. Nobody
ever really knew why they hated each other, they just did. They
lived around the corner from each other.
"Ali!" Danny hugged her coming in.
"Hey!" Ali squealed and kissed him, "The boat's
ready to go."
"Great, lets go," he said picking her up. He carried
her through the house to her boat.
"Hey look its Ali and her bodyguard," Nick yelled from
the deck of his house. He was right though, Danny was huge compared
to Ali.
"Just leave me alone for one!" Ali yelled back.
"Fine whore!" Nick yelled.
"Nick, shutup, you're only making an ass out of yourself,"
Danny yelled at him.
"I swear if he HAD a dick he'd still be a girl," Ali
told Danny as they started the boat up. Danny laughed a little
and took Ali up in his arms.
"Ali, promise me, if he ever hurts you you'll tell me,"
he said staring right in her eyes. It startled her a little how
serious he was.
"Of course," Ali smiled and kissed him.
They stayed out on Ali's boat all day, just talking and occasional
kisses.
"Its getting dark, we better go back in," Ali said starting
the motor up.
"Lets stay out here, pleases," Danny asked giving her
that smile she couldn't refuse.
"We'll freeze and if we lose the light we won't be able to
get back," Ali said starting to drive back. Danny pulled
her away from the wheel and shut the motor off.
"We'll stay out here tonight and make our own heat,"
he said holding her tight.
"Danny, I don't think so," Ali replied scared.
"Fine," he said angry and letting her go forcefully.
Ali was really scared of Danny now. He'd never done that before.
Ali drove back quickly and tied up the boat. She got out and Danny
followed.
"I think you better go," she said quietly sitting on
the couch.
"I was thinking the opposite," he smirked.
"Danny, please, I'll see you in the morning," Ali begged.
Danny picked Ali up and carried her to her bedroom, "Danny
put me down!"
"Shutup!" Danny yelled slapping Ali after jumping on
her bed.
"Please don't do this," Ali begged.
"I'm going to get what I want," he said sternly.
Ali cried and cried trying to get him off. She kicked him where
it counts.
"Bad girl," Danny said like he was crazy. He pulled
out his Swiss army knife and started cutting her all over including
arms, stomach, back and thighs. Ali pushed him into the wall and
ran out there. She ran out the backdoor.
"Where do I go?" she asked herself. She looked at Nick's
house, "God, give me strength," she muttered. She ran
to Nick's house. He was outside.
"Hey bitch," he called.
"Nick please, help me," she begged.
"With what?" he asked annoyed. She opened her jacket
trembling. All her wounds were showing, "Holy shit!"
he yelled shocked.
"ALI!" Danny yelled.
"C'mon!" Nick said grabbing her hand and taking her
inside.
"I know you hate me, but there was nobody else. I'm sorry,"
Ali said still scared.
Nick stepped closer to her and she backed up.
"I won't hurt you," he said gently. Ali'd never heard
that tone from him, "You're safe here," he assured her.
"Thank you," she replied shyly.
"Ali! Get out here!" Danny said banging on the windows.
Ali cried hard scared of him.
"Don't listen to him," Nick said sternly and trying
to get her to look at him. He sat her down on the couch. Danny
tried to get in for 15 minutes, but then gave up.
"He's gone, I should go," she said getting up.
"You're not going home," Nick said almost demanding
it, "C'mon, you gotta get those cuts cleaned," he said
taking her in the bathroom. He sat her down on the potty and took
her jacket.
"You're really kind for doing this," Ali smiled up at
him. He took her arm and gently washed the blood away.
"I suppose there's a first time for everything," he
smiled uneasily, "I have to get the one on your stomach,"
he said nervously.
"No laughing at my pot belly," Ali told him. She lifted
her shirt so her stomach showed.
"No pot belly here," he said checking it out. His hand
quivered as he slowly brushed the cloth on her soft skin. Ali
closed her eyes in hope that this was all a dream.
When Nick touched a spot that hut she knew it wasn't.
"Sorry," Nick said scared it really hurt her.
"Its okay," Ali mumbled.
"All done," he smiled. Ali put her shirt back down,
"Now for your back. It would be easier if you took your shirt
off and layed down," he said kinda disgusted. Ali nodded.
"Turn around," she said embarrassed. Nick smiled and
turned around. Ali took her shirt off and layed down on the cold
floor.
"Okay," Ali said uncomfortable. Nick turn back around
and sat down by her side.
"I"ll wash your clothes for you and you can wear some
of mine," Nick said as he washed away her blood.
"Thank you, I think he would've killed me if I didn't come
here," she admitted.
"I didn't think you'd come to me," he admitted.
"Oh, I'm sorry, your on vacation, aren't you? I'll go, I'm
sure someone else is home," Ali said still laying down.
"Its fine if you stay here. All done, I'll go get some clothes,"
he said getting up and leaving. He came back with a gray longsleeve
shirt and some old blue pants that didn't fit him anymore.
"If I fit in these, I'll kill myself," Ali said to herself.
Nick chuckled a little. He left so she could put them on. The
shirt was huge and so were the pants. Ali walked out holding the
pants up, "Got a belt?" she asked shyly.
"Yeah," he laughed and got one.
"You know. I'm helping you out here, you don't have to act
like I'm an awful person or anything," Nick said a little
angry.
"I"m sorry, I'll go changed and go home. Thank you Nick
for your help and not just throwing me out on the street,"
Ali said scared and starting to walk away.
"No, Alison, stay, I just, I dunno, we never got along and
I'm trying to be nice here, but you act like I'm the worst person
you ever met," Nick explained. He had grabbed her and said
it right to her face.
"I'm sorry," Ali said about to cry.
"Lets just calm down. I think we're both kinda uptight right
now," Nick said kinda to himself.
"What girl wouldn't be uptight while wearing guys clothes?"
she asked laughing.
"Lets just watch some TV. I have a friend coming over tonight.
He should be in about 10 minutes," Nick explained, "Is
that okay with you?"
"Could I possibly just go to sleep? I don't want anyone to
see me like this," she asked.
"That's fine too," he shrugged, "C'mon," he
led her to his bed.
"Nick, even though I might not seem grateful. I really am,"
Ali told him.
"Its nothing, just get some sleep," he said ruffling
her hair.
"G'night," Ali smiled.
"Night," Nick called leaving. Ali soon fell asleep.
Nick waited outside for his friend. He didn't want him to ring
the doorbell.
"Hey Nick!" Brian said as he got out of his car.
"Don't talk too loud," Nick said as they went inside.
"Why're we not talking?" Brian asked curious.
"One of my neighbors was attacked tonight. She came here
to hide. She's sleeping right now," Nick explained.
"She?" Brian asked raising an eyebrow.
"Um, Nick?" Ali asked quietly, "Oh sorry. I'll
just go back to bed," she said when she noticed Brian.
"No, its okay," Nick assured her.
"I was just wondering if you were going to be here tomorrow
when I wake up," she said still shy around him.
"Yeah, yeah I'll be here," he smiled.
"Since he's not going to introduce me, I'm Brian," he
said sticking out his hand.
"Alison," she hesitated and took his hand.
"So this is the Alison Nick hates," Brian assumed.
"Guilty," she smiled and raised her hand, "But
call me Ali, Alison's too formal."
Nick was a little embarrassed of Brian's statement. He felt a
sense of jealousy run through him when Ali told him Alison was
too formal for Brian.
"So, you wanna watch a movie with us?" Brian asked.
"Oh, sure, as long as you don't mind Nick," Ali said
unsure.
"Why would I mind?" he asked in an angry tone.
"I knew the niceness had to go sometime. I'll just be going
now. I'll drop your clothes off tomorrow, "Thanks again,"
she said leaving.
"Why'd you get mad?" Brian asked confused. Nick didn't
know why he got mad. He liked the idea of her running to him.
He just didn't like Brian talking to her. It was as if he wanted
to keep Ali a secret. The phone then rang.
"Hello?"
"Nick, you bring Ali back to her house right now. This is
kidnapping," he heard Danny say angry. Nick dropped the phone
and ran out.
