The Council and members of the BHTNC
would like to say Congradulations to the following
sisters and brothers of the Métis Nation of the U.S.
Raynond Night Hawk, Wanda Lu Rainwater, Barbara
Morning Dew, Marie Night Wolf, Felip Sweet Grass,
Charles Fire Bear and Harry Pathfinder.
They have been elected as Council for the
Métis of Florida. The BHTNC welcomes you
and all of you have our support.

Today marks 27 years of shame. On 02/06/76 Leonard Peltier
was arrested and sent to prison for a crime that he did not do.
The FBI knowing this, yet continue to lie and hide evidence
that would free Leonard from the prison walls that keep him
from his family and friends. The Leonard Peltier Defense
Committee (LPDC) has been working for his freedom from the
very beginning and they have been doing a great and
outstanding job but unfortunitly Government Officials continue
to knock them down. This year things are going to be different.
For the first time the FBI and other officials will be directly
challenged for lying and deceiving those who had the authority
and duty to correct this grave injustice long ago.
The year 2002 will very likely involve the exposure of evidence
suppressed for decades, shedding new light upon Leonard's
case and the struggle from which his case was born

COORDINATE LOCAL EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
to bring awareness to the publics eyes and share with them who
Leonard Peltier is and what happin 27 years ago.
