We have posted our Code Of Ethics for you to learn

alittle about our beliefs and how we live our lives on a daily basis

You should ALWAYS show respect to everyone. The Creator, your brothers, your sisters, elders, children, even a stranger. Even if people do not show you respect, try your best to show it to them.

Anyone that has a problem with a brother or sister, (member of BHTNC) Don't talk about them to others (gossip) or let it build to a rage. You should go to that person and calmly remedy the problem. This shows respect to that person.

If you have children and you are at a Gathering (pow-wow), a Tribal meeting or Event, or in the presence of Elders you should teach your children to sit quietly. You should NOT allow them to run around yelling and screaming. This shows disrespect to others as well as yourself.

Women are the second greatest gift that the Creator has allowed us (men) to take care of, next to life. My brothers, women should be treated with Much Respect. They should be Protected and Provided for. Think about this. Where would we be if it wasn't for the Creator and Women? We wouldn't be here that's where we'd be, so why would you treat women with disrespect? They gave you life.

Show much respect for others that have a different religious belief than yours. Who has the right to say yours is right and theirs is wrong? Or vice versa. If it brings you or them closer to the Creator, why would it be wrong?

You should never walk between people or interrupt them while they are having a conversation. Respectfully wait until they are done or they invite you to join.

Never touch anything that belongs to someone else (especially their sacred objects) without THEIR permission or an understanding between you. Show Respect to their belongings as you would your own.

If a brother or sister calls on you for help, They should not or have no right to demand that you help. This is soley your choice. But this should be an automatic response that they hear from you when calling for help. "Are You Alright?" "What's Wrong?" "What Do You Need?"

Never talk down to anyone or make them feel small and un~wanted. Never push anyone away or make them feel un~welcomed. When meeting a brother, a sister, or a friend on the street or when they come to your home, welcome them with open arms and an open heart. Avoid hurting the hearts of others.

If you get angry or upset with a brother or sister, Don't confront them in front of others and start yelling at them. This will only make that person feel embarrassed and be~littled. This shows disrespect to them and will make others see nothing in you. Ask them to step in private with you where the two of you can discuss the matter one on one.

Remember, we are all brothers and sisters. We should respect one another, have faith and trust in one another. If a brother or a sister needs our help we should not sit and wonder if we should help, but rather we should wonder how we Can help. If a brother or a sister comes to you with a problem and needs someone to talk to, sit with them, listen to them with an open heart, make their pain your pain and together destroy it. If they come to you for advice, give them the best advice you can, and if you don't have any, join them and help them find the advice they need.

Respect out mother the earth by not raping her and destroying her. Honor her by letting her live and stay beautiful. Don't throw your trash on her or rip her open. Our mother the earth protects us and provides for us. For every poisonous thing on our mother, (including the ones made by man) there IS a cure. Man made many poisons that mother earth did not, but she STILL has a cure for everything. All the food that she gives to us and the materials that she gives for us to survive. The more we trash and destroy her, the less she has to give and soon we will not only be fighting for her life, but ours as well.

The Words That You Have Just Read Are NOT The Buteo'Hawk Tribal Constitution, But Our Code Of Ethics. We Hope This Will Help Everyone To Better Understand And Know Who The Buteo'Hawk Tribe Is.
