The Métis of Florida, Métis Nation
of the United States will be holding a weekend campout &
Nomination meeting on December 1st & 2nd at the
Withlacoochee River Park in Dade City Florida. During this
there will be a meeting that will be held to take nominations
for candidates for all of the State Offices. This is free camping
and pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash. You are
requested to bring food for your own camp. For directions please

The Buteo' Hawk Tribe wish to say Congradulations to
our brother Leonard Peltier for being Honoured today with the
2001 OFL Human Rights Award from the Ontario Federation of
Labour. Almost 26 years after his false extradition from Canada to
the United States, Leonard was Honoured with this Award. The province's
federation of trade unions represents about 600,00 of the estimated
2.2 million unionized workers in Canada. Several hundred delegates
from across the province as well as national labour representatives
attened the OFL's 6th Biennial Convention in Toronto.

The Buteo' Hawk Tribe Council and members will be
having a Christmas party at the BHTNC Council house. The
gathering will start at 4:00pm and continue on until you get tired
and want to go home. If you wish to attend please contact us at the
e~mail address below and if you wish to bring a covered dish this
would be very much welcomed. We will be blessed with the visiting
of our National Chief: Whitehand, Southeastern Reg. Clan mother:
Morning Mist and Spiritual Elder: Red Turtle. We would be Honoured
if any of our sisters and brothers can come and visit with us.

ALL our Métis and non-Métis brothers and sisters
and ALL our First Nation and non-Indian brothers and sisters
a warm, safe and happy Christmas. We hope and pray that all
of you will stay safe warm and healthy.

A day of Indigenous Solidarity in Memory of the
Wounded Knee Massacre. "The Circle of Red Nations"
an American Indian Radio station will present a
day of Indigenous Solidarity in Memory of
the Wounded Knee Massacre. This educational
program is open to the general public and
will include American Indian speakers, drummers,
poets, singers and dancers. Also, there will be a
film and a brief discussion of contemporary
Indigenous issues. While the day's focus will
be the TRUTH behind the Massacre at
Wounded Knee, we will also discuss the countless
injustices that continue to be committed against
Indigenous People of the Americas.
The program will begin at 3:00 p.m. Seating
is limited. There will be a suggested donation of
$2.00. All proceeds will benefit the Annual
Indigenous Women's Conference, The Voice
of Mother Earth. There will be a special musical
performance by "Juan Avila" a modern Mayan
musician who has performed in National and
International venues. If you wish to come and
show your support, this event will be held at the
Brecht Forum
