Part 5

They walked together arm in arm. When they got to the house, Nick told Leslie to have a seat on the couch, because he had a surprise for her. " Put this on," he said as he handed her a silk robe. She undressed again and slipped on the robe. Nick came back a few minutes later and held out a blindfold. Leslie giggled and put the blindfolded on. Nick picked her up and carried her to a room, Leslie could feel the steam. Nick put her down and took off the blindfold. They were in a glass room. There was a bubbling hot tub in the center, surrounded by lit candles. Leslie could smell the scent of roses. There were petals all around. Nick flipped a switch on the wall, and one of the glass panels on the ceiling lifted to reveal the starry sky. Leslie was speechless. " You like it? " asked Nick, " I've been waiting to bring someone special here. I think I finally found her." He pulled the tie on her robe, then pushed it off her shoulders, letting it fall to the floor. Nick did the same with his, and led her into the steaming water. The sides were cushioned , so as they leaned against the side, Leslie was quite comfortable. They kissed slowly again at first, Nick's hands exploring her body, and hers, his. He had the most incredible power in his hands. She glanced into his eyes as he silently asked her a question. Her reply was a silent,"yes." And Nick began to make love to her once again. With more of a passion this time, more power behind his every move. Leslie screamed in ecstasy. Her whole body felt weak. They made love the rest of the night, stopping when they were too exhausted to go on. They got out and went into the den. Nick spread a fuzzy rug in front of the fire place, and he and Leslie laid there and kissed in front of the fire. They held each other the whole night. Nick fell asleep, and Leslie stared at him. She felt so safe, so warm in his arms. She knew that nothing could hurt her, she had had Nick, and could die happy.

As she began to drift off, she felt lighter, she opened her eyes to see her mom crying. She couldn't talk. She saw herself laying in a hospital bed. A wave of nauseousness went through her. What was going on. She realized then. She hadn't been all right when she hit her head, she was dying. The whole thing had been a dream. Leslie had fallen and the bump to her head had jarred her heart as well. The weak valve had burst. She could see the reports and papers on the table. Her mother was signing something, and the nurse pulled the plug on the life support machine. As soon as she heard the click of the plug, she saw a flash of light, then someone in the distance. As the figure came into focus, she could see that it was Nick. He was asleep in his bed at his house. With tears in her eyes, she whispered , " thank you for making my last night the best Nick." She had been right about one thing, she was dying happy.
