Leslie turned the dial on the radio trying to get a clear station. She had just finished watching Nick, the man of her dreams on the tv. She swooned every time he made that sweet, sexy little grin that she liked so much. She had often imagined how a perfect night with him would be. He would arrive at her house in his Prowler, with a dozen yellow roses. He knew that she liked the yellow ones the best. He would escort her to the car, then open the door, and help her in. They would then head to the beach, where they had met. They would get there and Nick would help her out of the car. They would go for a walk in the sand, right where the water came to, so it would tickle their feet. As they looked up into the sky, a million stars would provide enough light for the two lovers to gaze into each other's eyes. Nick would say," I love you." And they would kiss, as they fell slowly to the sand. They would make love and hold each other until dawn, when they would watch the sun rise as Nick tickled her neck w' soft little kisses. As she dreamed, she came to a familiar song on the radio. It was Have You Ever. Leslie had heard the song before, but for some reason, she listened to the lyrics closely this time.
"Have you ever loved somebody so much it made you cry? " Leslie thought of Nick as she listened. This song described her so well. Every feeling she had about him was being expressed by this amazing voice. Leslie listened on. " Have you ever found the one you've dreamed of all your life you'd do anything to look into their eyes?" She had often cried, not just inside. every time she thought of how great it would be to have Nick in her life, she teared up. Another thought was beating in the back of her head, her visit to the doctor the day before. She had been born with a heart defect. The valves in her heart were very small, smaller than they were supposed to be, so she had an operation a year earlier to replace them. Everything went well, but about two days ago, she had breathing trouble. She was taken to the hospital, and examined. But was released when nothing was found. She felt better anyway, but was still a little worried. She finished listening to the song, then got ready for bed. She popped in a Backstreet Boys CD, and let Nick sing to her. She cried herself to sleep silently, as the words to Heaven In Your Eyes floated in her ears.
