Twisted and Torn
Oh,the great pain I feel inside,
Twisted and torn by the hands of time,
Where it came from,I don't know,
But love caught hold and won't let go.
This pain I feel hurts so deep,
It makes me feel so very weak,
Yet it makes my heart jump with glee,
Hoping that you'll forever love me.
Lost somewhere in this heart of mine
Twisting like the kudzu vine,
Hidden and held so very tight,
Love caught hold with all it's might.
Sometimes we wonder,"Why love again?"
It often seems to be a dead end,
But with this pain inside I know,
That love caught hold and won't let go.
Only time will tell, what's in store,
If it will be forevermore,
The pain is great and will not go away,
Please just love me in the same way.
Please just listen to what my heart says,
And let it grip yours without any dread
Just please let me hold you forever and a day,
And let my heart just steal you away.
To sweep you off your precious feet,
To lock you forever under my heartbeat,
Is all I ever expect to take from you,
