The Lady of the Sea
She woke this morn at early light
Upon her face, deep blue and white
Moody and tossed across her arms
She reached for thee, a look of harm
And yet, within each wrinkled fold,
They knew her hands were bitter cold.
Deep beneath her blue embrace,
She holds a truth foretold by fate.
The story of ships once lost at sea,
The men, their gold and fortunes greed.
Sunk now, below on bottom sand.
The treasure, the greed and the Men.
Now lost forever, she glassed her eyes
Reflecting false promise of hidden lies
Knowing deep down in watery grave
She claims them all and all they save.
Calm again her face greenish glow
A jealous look only seagulls know.
A look of love, a soft caress
Slowly rocking upon her breast.
At peace with the world, at peace with
her soul
Hiding the memories of her tattered foe.
Forgotten now, but forever will be,
The mysterious, changing, Lady of The
Sea
