Fence
A sturdy white fence stands alone
Vast fields upon both sides
The breezes sway the grass and
Peace abounds on one side
Brown grasses sit still on the other
No flowers bloom
On the other side
A fresh coat of paint
Caresses the fence
As it meanders through the median of the fields
The crowd has gathered
Irresistible fence
Arms and legs jangle together
In order to sit upon the posts
Both sides grounds for personal wellness
At this view
One could have the best of both worlds
Although the shoulders sag with the weight of the battle
Scrambling to sit on the fence
Why leave?
There is contentment present
And the fence does not fall
I join the crowd
My mind shuts down on the post
How did I do this?
My heart is frightened
Comprehension has evaporated
It is hot
Uncomfortable
Have to escape
The brown is just so unflattering
I need flowers
My legs carry me
As I run with all my might
The people stare but never budge
The sun brightens
Fresher air
Seeps through my skin
My eyes don't sting
I am energized
I am in the field
I made it to the field I need
The question is
How long will I stay
I can see the fence from here....
