THE WORD

"Out of the sea of sound the life of music. Out of the slimely mud of words. Out of the sleet and hail of verbal imprecisions. Approximate thoughts and feelings. Words that have taken the place of thoughts and feelings. There spring the order of perfect speech, and the beauty of communiucation.

Distracted from distraction by distraction. Filled with fancy but empty of meaning. Then came the word but the word within a word, the word without a word, and for the world. And the light shone in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not.

"In the beginning." The subject of the beginning has been the focus of human beings all through the ages. Since man began to look around at his environment and observe the snow capped mountains, the fertile valleys, the oceans, rivers, lakes and streams; all teeming with life: they have pondered the gods of beginning, espesially of the universe and themselves. Volumes of books and countless pieces of literature have been written about the mysterious beginning of this universe and planet, and its various and diverse people. The scientific, philosophical, and religious communities, say they all have the answers to these mind boggling questions that people are faced with today. But do they now??

The scientist says the universe began with a superdense ball of primordial matter floating through a darken void, and mysterious became superheated and exploded. The explosion sent matter racing outward at or near the speed of light to form the galaxies, the solar system, and of course planet earth, the only planet that can sustain life as we know it. They say the universe is still expanding, or perhaps following a predetermined circuit of activity. The philosophers talk about the universal mind of God intrinsic in the created mattered. They teach and show to us the causes, as they perceive them, for the effects we all visualize and enjoy on this planet. The religious community states emphatically, that the universe was created in six literal twenty-four hour days, and consequently, the universe is only about six thousand years old. We know this is just Babylonian mythology, to say the least. Because it took billions of years to form the fossil fuels we use today in all of our activities of life.

There is an alternative view, and it is not a theory, but confirmed reality. The eternal God has revealed his Being unto his people as the sovereign God and creator of the universe, and all things that abide in our world. And consequently he has shown to us his master plan of the ages concerning the redemption of his people. With this in mind, I want to reveal and teach to you the gracious and dynamic God of creation, and how he condescended quality-wise to become a man and reveal the way back to divine restoration from an environment of sin, deception, destruction and death.

In the beginning of what? In the beginning of the creation of the universe was the WORD. Just what is the word? The word as we know it is a sound or a combination of sounds expressing a meaning independently and forming one of the basic elements of speech. Actually, it is a little more complicated than than. First we use the air in our lungs and force it through our voice box and modulate it with the tongue and lips of our mouth. The air is dispelled from our mouths in specific alternating waves of condesation and rarefaction. These pressure waves are picked up by our ears and they vibrate the ear drums. There are bones connected to the ear drums in the inner ear that are vibrated. And these bones convey these vibration to an apparatus that converts them to electrical impulses. These electrical impulses flow through the auditory nerve to the brain, and this is where "sound" is distinguished.

After we were incarnate with our corporeal bodies at its birth we learn, and we are taught to associate these sounds created by our brains with symbols we call words and their meaning. It is the same with the written symbol. We have an alphabet of sound-letters we use to form words, and these particular words have specific meanings. Therefore the pressure waves, the created sounds in our brains, and the written symbol is not the word, because they are mediums or carriers of the spirit-thought or meaning. In the days of antiquity Elohim Jesus, the Eternal Spirit of Life, expressed his thoughts to the minds of the prophets by the word, and the word was in the form of pictorial visions. The pictorial visions was not the word. They were mediums or carriers that conveyed the God-thought to the mind of the prophets, who spoke and prophesied the "word" of God.

Now with this bit of revelation about the word, we can understand that the word was not an eternal Son-person, or a Son-spokesperson. The word was simply the God-thought expressed. Now with God expressed as the word, and the word is Elohim-Jesus, and Elohim-Jesus is the totality of the unexpressed Spirit of Life expressed to create the universe and energized into motion his great drama of Life and death.

Now to paraphase Jn.1:1-3, In the beginning of creation was the expressed thought of God in the form of the word, who is Elohim-Jesus. And the expressed word Elohim-Jesus was with God as his very essence. And the word was and is the one and only wise and true God Elohim-Jesus. The same was in the beginning with God or the Eternal Spirit of Life as the unexpressed essence of his Being All things were made by him, the word, who is Elohim-Jesus: and without him was not anything made that was made. The apostle John called the Lord "him" because he knew him as a person called Jesus Christ the Son of God.

When we think about the word and communication, we realize that Adam and his family, and the family of Cain, whose father was the Devil, communicated their thoughts of love, hatred, and emotions by word of mouth, drums, wind instruments. Today the invention of sophisticated modes of optical and electromagnetic communications sends intelligence at the speed of light across the planet. This swiftly accumulated knowledge of the kaleidoscope of world events has become universal and commonplace.

When people meditate by thought they think about the systematic way, and in logical terms they erect their thoughts about their instinctual desires, their aesthetic aspects of life, and their economic and patriotic concerns to form concepts, and then express them by projecting into the world an opinion still personal to themselves as if it was true.

But the WORD the scripture is describing is on a much higher plane of existence, even though he spoke as the Son of God through the same process we use today; the word of God is the expression of God for some reason or purpose. While it is true that "Elohim" in Elohim-Jesus is plural by definition, the plurality resides not in persons simply because God is not person. The plurality is expressed in the attributes and qualities of his Spiritual Being. The Lord possessed various attributes and desires to be a creator, a Father, and a Son. And as a Son, he would be the Son of Man, the God prophet, which is the source of all his ministerial offices. The five-fold ministry of the church is expressed as Jesus Christ to the world at large.

In the covenant relationship with Israel the Lord was a Master to his servants, and that is why he designed the Father/Son relationship to redeem his people and translate then into the Sonship position in Christ. The Lord played both the Father and the supporting role of the Son of God in his great drama to save his people from their sins. We can understand the various names of the one God, such as Lord (Adonoy), Elohim (the Almighty), Jehovah (the self-existent one), and Yahwe. Elohim Yeshuah (Jesus) is Yeshuah (Jesus) the Messiah, or Christ, or the anointed one. Yeshuah (Jesus) is Immanuel, or God with us. And Jehovah has at least seven attributional names, such as Jireh, the provider. Nissi, my banner. Shalom, my peace. Rapha, he hears me. Tsidkenu, my righteousness. Saboath, the Lord of hosts. Shammah, he is present. Adonai, Lord God master.

"And in Him was Life, and the Life was the knowledge of the truth expressed as the light of men." Jesus said you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Jesus said, the words I speak unto you, they are Spirit and they are Life. Thank God for his Life, and it more abundantly.
