Stoll Kansas

I have been to Stoll Kansas several times. The second time I went Michael was with me. I can't say I know if the myth of Stoll is true or not....but rumors on the place is that it is one of the places where the ole' big bad dude had paid a visit to. This is up to everyones speculations but here is my tale of that town.

The first time I went to Stoll, myself...my son and two other friends got in the car and went in search of this place. We have heard rumors that the devil himself had visited that place...namely the church there.

We drove there and when we hit the back roads (off the main highway) we started to look for the church and the graveyard. We had heard that the town was just a spot in the road. We all were eagle eyed..... looking for the town sign...if you could call it a town. We circled around in a church's parking lot to get our barings. The town was just the church and a few abandoned buildings. Mind you...though we were all seeking the destroyed church and graveyard...no one saw it.

As we exited the standing church parking lot that we circled around in .....there was the burnt out church on the hillside across the street...and around it was the graveyard. We couldn't understand how we did not see the graveyard and the burnt church...it is like one min. it was there and the next it wasn't.

Slowly we climbed the hill past the tombstones and noticed something funny about the graveyard. Every tombstone....though very old...was in like new condition....except for the minister's tombstone that was over 100 years old. We also noticed that the only tombstone that had vegatation was the minister's one..it had prickly vines climbing up and encircling it.

We also noticed that all the trees seemed to be growing away from the burnt out church...as if trying to pull away from it but held by their traitorious roots.

The church had suffered through the years with graffiti and trash thrown into it. All the marking on the walls was of a evil intentiion. The roof was burned off and the beams layed in ruin inside the church's floor....but strangely the wood around the windows was left untouched by the fire...it was as it the roof exploaded off the church. We could see a faint smoked outline of where the cross once was over the alter area...yet above that was a smoked depiction of a evil face...the face that has haunted children through the ages.

There was such an evil feeling to the area that we all were starting to get spooked.

We quickly left Stoll and proceeded to drive the 90 miles or so home. The whole trip home we were followed by headlights that were just out of sight of the vehicle...if it was a vehicle. It stayed just far enough back so that we could not see it clearly...yet always on our trail.

The second time we ventured to Stoll we went a different route...so as to not by pass the church and graveyard again. Yet again the same thing happened...we saw the sign to the town and not the graveyard till we saw the standing church across the road from it. Again the forbidden graveyard and church appeared only then.

The bad feelings were still there and our visit was very short. We never returned to that town..but the memories are still with us.
