Your Purpose

Are you sometimes filled with discontent? You seem to gather a pleasure here and there and then it fades into oblivion? Do you ever feel like there must be a purpose to your life other than just to live and let live?

There is purpose and meaning to your life, there may be multiple purposes and meanings to your life. The trick is to find them. The first thing that you should know is this.

Our Three Steps

1) Slow down!
2) Take time to LISTEN to others.
3) Take time to NOTICE what is going on in the world.

Our three steps is yours and mine. You will began to see things a whole lot differantly if you will just do these few things. This is just the begining of your journey into finding your purpose and meaning in Life.

You do not have to believe in any religion to find your purpose in Life. Weigh out and test this with great scrutiny. You will then see and understand that this is a just a simple truth.

Your purpose is actually in plain view right in front of you. You will find many differant situations that will happen in your life that you could do good or give someone encouragement. You may have let these moments slip away from you. If you will take a little time and effort to give to others, you will see that the rewards are far greater than the effort.

You can cleanse your heart with acts of kindness. This is what brings true happiness. This, along with:

Our Three Steps

1) Slow down!
2) Take time to LISTEN to others.
3) Take time to NOTICE what is going on in the world.

will bring you wisdom that you will need to began to guide others to their purpose.

'Happiness' can be a daily thing to experiance. Most people do not know this because they mistake 'pleasure' for 'happiness' but these are two quite differant emotions to experiance.

Pleasure

'Pleasure' is to be found with matierial possesions, sex, eating good food and fulfillment of desires. In Christiaity these are called "pleasures of the flesh" and "pleasures of the world". In Buddhism these are called the "sensual pleasures". The high points in these are only temporary. The feelings of pleasure will last for only a short time and it will fade. Pleasures are found with acts of selfishness or thinking of one's self and are quick and easy to obtain.

Happiness

'Happiness' is derived from the so called spiritual aspects of life, doing good for others, putting things into perspective through the development of the act of patience, and being content with things and people as they are. Happiness is found from non-selfish acts and is cultivated with time and work.

So you see that 'happiness' and 'pleasure' are two differant emotions and come about in quite differant circumstances. The people who are not satisfied in life are the ones trying to fill their life up with 'pleasure'. The ones who have found'happiness' are the ones that do good in the world and are patient with others.

Patience

'Patience' is a value that is easier to obtain than most people think. Most think that this value is brought about with time but this is wrong. Even a child can have patience. If you start out with whatever you are doing by first slowing down mentally. Then you can proceed with 'patience'. If on the other hand you get half way into something and then try to implement 'patience' you will have no momentum to carry you over the top and you will fail.

All things that are worth anything, take time and effort and have a lot more invested in them such as happiness, physical fitness, good health, and clean living.

Negativity

In this day and time, negative thoughts and emotions are expressed by everyone in almost every circumstance and situation daily. Such as expessions about the boss, the job, co-workers, an enemy, the car, the house and so forth. This can be a big stumbling block to happiness. Also other people will began to connect you to a feeling of despair, unhappiness, anger, frustration or just bad thoughts. It is best to avoid negative comments of any kind. You will express negative thoughts sometimes just keep them in balance by expressions of good things. Pay attention to this part of yourself and observe others in their attitudes towards the world. You will began to see that this does affect the way that we percieve the world. It is only natural to talk about things when they bother you. This can be a release or a way to blow off steam. What I am saying is this, blowing of steam can turn into a negative attitude about Life.

Conclusion

Well in closing just remember:

Our Three Steps

1) Slow down!

Slowing down will bring about 'patience'.

2) Take time to LISTEN to others.

To do this listening to others will take 'patience' and give you knowledge. You can see that talking is a whole lot less important than listening because when I listen to you I am gaining knowledge. My saying is this: "If I listen to you and them. I now know what you know and what they know."

3) Take time to NOTICE what is going on in the world.

With the patience it takes to listen to others you will gain knowledge about others and the world around you. Wisdom will flurish in your heart and you will have the ability to help others. Helping others is unselfish. Unselfishness will bring you happiness which in turn will help you to find the meaning and purpose in your Life.
