"I'm back!" Jo called, then was surprised when she didn't hear a reply. Usually one of the children would answer, or even Asia. Where were they?
She walked towards the back of the house, and heard someone giggle, then a quick "Shh." from someone. She walked to the door and saw all of the children gathered around . . . Amy!
"What are you doing here?" Jo asked startling everybody.
Amy was the first to recover. "Hello Jo, I was just bringing you over some mistletoe, since you said that you couldn't find any. Then the children asked me why I was hanging the mistletoe, and I started telling them the story about it. It was too cold in the parlor, so we moved back here."
Jo became upset. "Amy! I told you that I didn't want any mistletoe, not that I couldn't find any!"
"Well, . . I thought that maybe you didn't want any because you couldn't find any."
Nan looked up from a book that she was reading. "Hey Mrs. Jo, did you know that mistletoe can be toxic to livestock, and the raw berries of eastern kind of mistletoe can be fatal to children?"
Jo looked at her in worry. "No, I didn't know that. What kind of mistletoe is this?"
"It's European mistletoe. I don't know if it's dangerous or not, but you had better keep Rob away from it."
"Well, I really need to be going." Amy stood and gathered the remaining branches.
"Amy! I told you I don't want it." Jo insisted.
"But Jo," She whined, "it's tradition to have mistletoe hanging from every doorway."
"Please Aunt Jo? It's really pretty." Bess asked from the other side of the room.
Jo sighed looking around the room at all of the hopeful faces. "Fine." She said and walked out of the room.
"Good." Amy smiled and walked to the doorway.
Just then Laurie came running in. "Have any of you seen my w-" He saw Amy and stopped. "Where have you been? I've been looking all over for you."
"I was hanging mistletoe for Jo."
"Hey Mr. Laurie!" Dan called grinning.
"What Dan?"
"You're standing under the mistletoe." He smirked.
Laurie looked up at the mistletoe then over at his wife. Grinning, he grabbed her, and with the loud approval of everyone in the room, kissed his wife soundly on the lips!

Of all the scenes, we felt this was the one LMA would have written if she'd have the chance. With a couple of her own choosing, a great emphasis on tradition, and kind of a LMA-ish tone about it, this scene would definitely earn her approval.
