Nickolas Gene Carter - a.k.a. Frack, Kaos/Chaos - recently celebrated the 25th time he has honored as the day he was born in the same Jamestown, New York hospital as commedian Lucille Balle on January 28, 1980. Since then, Nick's regular stardom has been a part of his natural self.

In an interveiw, Nick once said that he likes to keep himself and his probelms quiet (he considers him self a modern-day hermit, as he told Teen and doesn't like partying or that kind of stuff [can't blame him...N-64 is better!]), but he brings himself out in his drum playing. Nick was first "disovered" by his mother at age 9, who insisted he take voice lessons. Then Nick landed a small part in Edward Scissorhands and the lead part in his 4th grade class' production of Phantom of the Opera.

From his (old) home in Ruskin, Flordia, Nick often took his boat out in nearby Tampa Bay. "I love the ocean." (enhanced CD) And he explains how his shark tattoo represents his love for the ocean. He loves to SCUBA dive, or play basketball and football with the other Boys. Even when not on tour, all 5 often get together, and sometimes Nick and his best friend B-Rok (and sometimes A.J.) play intense games of Nintendo, basketball, or just hang out.

In school, Nick, whose favorite subjects were science, history, and English, was not very pouplar and was often critisized because he often left school for auditions. Now, all he has to say to those people that made fun of him is that he's doing something he loves, and he doesn't want to laugh in their faces.

As Nick has grown up, so has his bad-boy image. No longer seen as the angel of the group, Nick has had his share of negative publicity recently. From his arrest for creating a disturbance in a bar to his 7-month disaster relationship with Paris Hilton to his recent arrest for DUI, Nick has been in the tabloids much more than his fellow band-mates during the hiatus. The number of tattoos the blonde-headed guy now sports has multiplied and his hair styles have changed drastically as well, even including a shaved head!

Nick has branched out slightly, appearing in a couple made-for-tv movies and releasing a solo album "Now or Never" in 2001 that did not sell well (no comment...the radios hated Backstreet Boys and anything related to them, but felt the need to fawn over N'Stync whenever they got the chance...), but as a solo aritst he will never rise to the height of fame he has with the Boys. The announcement of the new album has been good in adding positive publicity to Nick's image and trying to overcome the negative comments that have plagued him for the past 4 years.
