Aaron Charles Carter, baby bro of baby Backstreet Boy Nick Carter. Despite his young age (though he's not all *that* young anymore!), he has almost as many admirers as his big brother. The youngest of his family (1 minute younger than his twin sister Angel), he's definitely not the least talented. He has been singing since age 6 when he formed a band, "Dead End," and was the lead singer. Aaron released his self-titles debut CD around mid-1998 and a sophomore album (yes, 2nd album @ 12 years old!) on Sept 26, 2000, "Aaron's Party (Come Get It)." He released follow up albums "Oh Aaron" in 2001 and "Another Earthquake" in 2002 before a "Greatest Hits" compilation was released in 2003.

In effect, he is the "little prince of pop." The Backstreet Boys are known worldwide as the "Kings of Pop" and Aaron, being Nick's brother and the popstar that he is, deserves the title. Even though he went into the music business to "be with his big brother more" (awww!) and opened for the Boys on their '97 tour (which gave him a fan base), he is a star in his own rights. He doesn't want to copy his big brother, but he looks up to Nick and, in one interview, referred to him as his best friend. Aww!

The Carters are a close-knit family. Nick and BJ have a special bond, Aaron and BJ do, and Aaron and his twin sister Angel have a sort of ESP, described in Jane Carter's book "Little Prince of POp." But Aaron and Nick have an especially special bond, despite the 8-year age difference. Jane Carter (mom) describes this also in her book Heart and Soul of Nick Carter.

When they lived in Ruskin/Tampa, FL, Nick and Aaron shared a room cluttered with video game equipment and other things. Aaron was a lot neater than Nick, who felt obligated to "tornado-ize" his room whenever he was home (and got in trouble one time!). Early 1999, the Carters (minus Nick) moved to LA. Until August (99), Aaron hadn't seen Nick since Christmas. At his Ottowa concert on August 31, Nick surprised him by showing up and there were tears shed by both brothers (aww!).

from Aaron's webpage about it:
I am done touring for a while now. Who saw the concert in Ottowa, Canada? For those who didn't see it, Nick showed up and surprised the ^&**^% (heck) out of me. I thought my surprise guest was Celine Dion... NOT!! Boy was it great to see him, I haven't seen him since just after Christmas.

and from Nick's webpage:
Look for me to make other appearances with Aaron as my schedule allows. By the way, Aaron had NO idea I was even there - he cried when he saw me, I cried too!

Awwwwww! :)

Aaron has grown up a lot in the past couple years. Not only has he gotten taller (5'0" or 5'3"), but his voice has matured a lot from what it was on his first album. He is also more intelligent in the music business than when he started out, but that's expected. Although he has blond hair like his bro, Aaron's puppy-dog brown eyes sharply contrast Nick's caring blue eyes. Aaron and Nick both have the same charismatic smile that spreads happiness to even the most depressed person. As Mrs. Carter describes in her book, Heart and Soul of Nick Carter, Aaron is a "child who has never had a bad day." He's lucky!

The Carter brothers, especially Nick (hence his nickname Kaos), are known for playing pranks on people - and each other. Aaron says that one time he told Nick there was a present for him in his bedroom and locked him in for an hour or so. Nice, brotherly love…: ). Nick got him back, though, by pushing him into the canal [that was] behind their house in Ruskin because Aaron said something to the effect of "Nick, you can't fish!" But all this "meanness" (if that's the right term) masks the love between the two brothers. And even though Nick is Aaron's real big brother, he considers the other Boys, especially Brian, to be his "other big brothers."

Aaron looks up to and idolizes his big brother. Nick gives Aaron tips not only on performing, but also about life itself. The bond between the brothers is very special and unique. Nick has been there since, well since December 7, 1987 when Aaron was born, but he's also been there for his baby brother since he started singing (at age 6) and performing (around age 9). The very first person Aaron mentions in his "thank yous" is Nick, "the most important person in [his] life," then he thanks his "other big brothers: Brian, AJ, Howie and Kevin." Nick helped Aaron a lot on his first album: from writing a song ("Ain't That Cute") to singing a "duet" ("Please Don't Go Girl") to re-mixing one of his singles ("Shake It")--with mass bass!

Aaron's first single, "Crush on You," was released in early-1998. Since then, he has released other singles from his album, including "Shake It," "Crazy Little Party Girl," and "I'm Gonna Miss You Forever." And another single, "Surfin' USA," a cover on the Beach Boys' hit. There have been videos for all these; Nick appears in the beginning of the "Crush on You" video. Aaron's song, "(Have Some) Fun With the Funk," appears on the Pokemon soundtrack, "Life is a Party" on the Rugrats in Paris soundtrack, and he has three songs on the Jimmy Neutron soundtrack. Aaron's had a number of singles released from his follow up albums, most of which appear on the "Greatest Hits" album released in 2003. Aaron was mentioned in the Guiness Book of WOrld Records for being the youngest person to have 4 consecutive TOp 10 singles. :)

Despite this success, recently his life has been rough. His parents separated, a toil which included having to call the police on his mother when she broke into his father's house, and he has been struggling to settle claims against his mother (and manager) for the money he has earned. These family problems were coupled with the release of pictures to the tabloids of Aaron's experimentation with drugs when he was 15, although he has said that that was just a phase and he is now drug-free (20/20, April 28, 2005). He has settled most of the disputes with his family and is continuing on with his career, currently spending time in the studio recording another album, release date TBA.
