Alex Mclean
Full Name: Alexander James Mclean
Alexander James Mclean (or better known as simply A.J., of by his nickname,"Bone"), was
boen on January 9, 1978, in West Palm Beach Florida, and from the outset he has always had a plesantly outrageous personality. As a youngster, he would cut up in school
and constantly be the center of attention among family and friends.
It seemed inevitable, then, that A.J. would go on big to an entertainment career.
It was acting, though, instead of singing that attracted A.J. early on. By age 12,
he had appeared in 27 stage productions, including "Fiddler on the Roof,"
"The Nutcracker" and "The King and I." HE also played Dopey in a grade school production of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."
During Junior High school, A.J. got a part in "Welcome Freshman" on Nickelodeon, and began an ongoing relationship with Nickelodeon, and the Disney Channel for future projects to include, singing, dancing. It was during
one audition that A.J., Howie, and Nick began discussing plans for the group that would go on to become Backstreet Boys. A.J. has said that his musical lean toward toward R&B and Motown-style grooves, from Steve Wonder to Peabo Bryson to The Temptations A.J. has also been known to listen gospel artists such as Take 6,a trait he shares with fellow BSB boy Brian Littrell.
In his free time, A.J. enjoys cartooning, shopping, writing poetry, shooting pool and hoops, and being a puppeteer, which undoubtely endears him to the Backstreet Boys' youngest fans! He is also well known for going to MacDonald's while on tour, because burgers and fries are his favorite foods.
