Warcraft II

Opening Statements

Warcraft II shines through with its addictive gameplay and options. This playstation version does a good job of still capturing what the PC had to offer. Its warcraft at its best, and that's definitely something to watch out for.

Nightshadow's Comments

From the second I owned this game, I just couldn't keep my hands off of it. The game is just straight up addictive, and I think that something like that is a good quality in a game, after all, If the creators of game have people playing their game, and having fun doing it, then their mission is accomplished. Warcraft II uses Classical songs for the soundtrack that weren't in the PC version. This is ok because the music does sound pretty good, and it shows that they were aiming at creating the same affect that was in the PC. Of course as you all know, now you can also wage battles in the water with your boats, while you fight on land. The mages and Dragons that you can get are just another good example of what's in the game. There is even a demolition squad that goes into places and blows things up. The game also does a good job of giving you different campaigns to take away from the repetativeness. As I recall, in one level I had to put down a peseant rebellion and then start rebuilding a town, afterwards taking out an Orc base across the sea. The voices in the game sound just as good as the PCs. My only complaint, and this doesn't really even matter, is that you can't taunt the people and get them to say things like: "stop poking ME!", in this playstation version. Other than that, the game delivers a very fun experience. For amusement, you can change the language setting of the game, and at the beginning of each mission when you are recieving your assignment, you can listen to man speak in Dutch, German, French, and some others. Bottom line is, this game delivers everything the PC version does, and even if there wasn't a PC version, this game just delivers everything that a strategy gamer could want.
