Opening Statements
The Test Drive series has made its voice heard with the
many racing games that it has come out with. This one is a
little different from your typical race-car game because it
is Off-Road. Just read the reviews.....
Nightshadow's Comments
Test Drive: Off Road (I'll call it TDOR from now on), is
going to appeal to Off Road race players, because of the
bumps and jumps in the ground, and the fact that you have
to fight with the other cars to get a good spot. It
controls pretty well. Its not delayed. When you push the
button, it will respond. You don't get to change the cars
view, except to a side view, which doesn't do you any good,
because you can't see the road in front of you. I guess I
can understand why they don't let you change the view to an
in-the-car view, because if they did, you wouldn't be able
to see all the lumps and speed bumps in the ground. You
would be bouncing around, and not knowing why. There are 6
tracks, a couple with snow, a couple on a street-like road,
and a couple on a dirt road. You can choose from a Hummer,
Jeep Wrangler, etc. It lets you choose from about 4
different types of cars, and lets you change the colors on
them. You race different cups. Once you beat one cup, you
get to go on to the other, but you are still racing on the
same track. TDOR is an ok game if your a racing fan. It
isn't anything too innovative or anything, but I guess if
you like racing, and like Off Road, then give this one a
look. If the overall graphics don't pull you in, maybe the
music will.....
