Have 3 players line up across the free throw line[extended].Player in the middle has the ball.Line 3 other players up behind the first 3 just inside the court.Coach blows whistle and all 6 sprint down court hard as they can.The first 3 are to maintain a lead as in a fast break situation. The last 3 are trying to catch them and stop the break. The 1 does not shoot or do a layup, but has to pass off about half court line to the 2 or 3 who can shoot or do a layup or pass off to the player on other side of court for a layup or close shoot.Do not allow any shots from 10 foot or more, make the players pass and catch on the run,and put the ball on the floor with out traveling. **Coach,if you see the players are not running at game speed, blow your whistle and make them hustle back and get in rear of line, don`t let them jog downcourt.Remember, you are training muscle memory too. |

you can have them do this going one way or both ways, down court and back up.You can also switch when you get downcourt and let the 4,5,and 6 bring it back down,If you have 12 players and time is a concern, have your first six hit the sidelines when done and hustle back and line up and start again. When your first 6 shoots, start your second 6 downcourt and keep the kids busy at all times.
