Dark Lords of the Sith

Naga Sadow --

Naga Sadow was a Dark Lord of the Sith that lived 5,000 years before the struggle between the Empire and the Rebellion. He was a member of an elite priesthood of pure Sithblood, a group that practiced the ways of the Sith. Sadow was exiled from his homeworld for rebelling against the reigning Dark Lord of the Sith and was labeled as a criminal by the Republic.

Sadow traveled across the galaxy, and soon ended up on Yavin 4 where he conducted genetic experiments on the primitive Massassi warriors, inhabitants of Yavin 4, which mutated them into terrifying creatures.

Exar Kun --

Exar Kun, lived as one of the earliest Dark Lords of the Sith, four thousand years before Anakin Skywalker turned to the Dark side of the Force. On Dantooine, Exar Kun learned the way of the force from his master Vodo-Siosk Baas. Kun prided himself on the jedi techniques he had mastered such as Lightsaber combat. Kun used his masters Holocron to learn about the forbidden teachings of the Sith. Baas became very disturbed to find his most promising student studying the way of the Sith.

During a lightsaber training exercise, Kun lost his temper with one of his master's other students, Sylvar, and tried to kill her. Vodo-Siosk Baas stepped in to prevent Kun from killing Sylvar. Kun, angered with his master, fought him and defeated Baas, but did not kill him.

A month later, Kun left for Onderon in search for the Dark Lord of the Sith Freedon Nadd's tomb. Once he confronted Nadd's spirit, Kun was led to two scrolls which had the details of the secret Sith resting places location.

Kun translated the scrolls and soon traveled to the desolate planet of Korribun. With the aid of Freedon Nadd's spirit Kun gained access to the planets Sith tombs. Nadd trapped the young Jedi in the tomb and attacked him, almost killing him.

Nadd offered Kun a chance to live, if Kun would embrace the Dark side totally. Out of desperation, Kun gave in and thus became a Dark Lord of the Sith.

Xanatos --

Xanatos was an old apprentice of Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn. He was filled with much hate and anger and turned to the dark side. Because of Xanatos' turn, Qui-Gon hesitated to train another padawan.

Darth Sidious --

Darth Maul --

Darth Vader --

Darth Vader was once Anakin Skywalker, a slave of Watto, a Toydarian, on Tatooine. One day, a certain Jedi Knight named Qui-Gon Jinn and several other outlanders arrived on Tatooine. Their ship was damaged and was in need of repair. Qui-Gon made a bet with Watto that if Anakin won the podrace on Boonta Eve, their ship would be fixed and Anakin would be freed. Luckily, Anakin won the race along with his freedom. He left Tatooine and was going to be trained by Qui-Gon, but Qui-Gon was killed by the Sith aprentice Darth Maul. As a result, Jinn's current padawan, Obi-wan Kenobi was granted permission by the Jedi Council to train the young boy. Despite Obi-wan's teaching, Anakin wanted a quicker, easier path toward mastering the ways of the Force. After Anakin rejected his master's instruction, he embraced the Dark Side.

When Obi-Wan realized what his apprentice had become, he tried to draw Anakin away from the dark side. Anakin became angry at his master and attacked him. After the resulting lightsaber duel, Anakin was seriously injured, but he survied. Scarred and torn, Anakin became Darth Vader and was forced to don the imfamous black life-supporting armor.

For fear of what Anakin might do, Obi-wan helped Anakin's wife (Queen Amidala) and newborn twins (Luke and Leia) escape into hiding. Luke was sent to Tatooine, and Leia and her mother were sent to Alderaan.

Vader later helped Emperor Palpatine hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights close to the colapse of the Old Republic and the beginning of the evil Galactic Empire. He was later sent to help Grand Moff Tarkin in the developement of the Death Star. Lord Vader was put in charge of the Imperial fleet and assigned to crush a growing Rebellion against the Emperor's New Order. When Vader discovered that he had a son, both he attempted two times to turn his son to the Dark Side: once at Cloud City, and the final time during the Battle of Endor on the second Death Star.

During the final confrontation both the Emperor and Vader attempted to turn Luke to evil, but he resisted. Seeing their attempts were in vain, the Emperor proceded to electricute young Skywalker to death. After hearing the screams of pain from his son, Anakin returned to the Light Side. At the cost of his own life he saved his son by throwing the Emperor, to his death, down a ventilation shaft.
