Log of daily progress made
Here I hope to keep a daily log of progress and hints and tips as I work on one of my many projects!
- December 19, 1999: I was out of town all weekend so I did not get a chance to update my page, but I did have a great time with my family that lives away from here. I did some stitching on Angel of the Sea on the way up to my grandparents (I could not work on a TW in the car) and then I worked on it some while sitting around talking and then some on the way back. Probably put about 3 hours in it over the weekend. Now that I am back home, I will work on it while I unwind at night in between baking and wrapping presents! Oh I can't wait til Christmas is here, then I will finally be able to relax.
- December 15, 1999: Worked on Peaceable Kingdom for about 5 hours today and accomplished a lot on the border. This is a tedious piece but what I've done so far is beautiful so it makes the tedious part well worth it. It is so fun to be working on a TW again. This will be my last update until Monday, since I am going out of town this weekend. I hope to get some serious stitching done on the trip (5 hours one way) and during some of the sit around times. I am looking forward to seeing my grandparents, and they are very supportive of my stitching - they don't mind if I stitch while we talk, they know I am still paying attention. Hope everyone has a great weekend! Oh my progress is at this site: Crystal's progress pictures Just click on Peaceable Kingdom to see the piece before I started this rotation and the progress I made today!
- December 14, 1999: It's finished except for the beading and completing the date! Yeah! I finished up Band 11 and did Band 12 today! If you would like to see it Click here!
I also started back on Peaceable Kingdom last night - wow to be working on a TW again. This is a beautiful piece. I am posting a picture of where I am at on it, this is pretty much where I left it about a year ago, plus just a little I did tonight. I scanned it in my Qsnap so it is not exactly square. Click here to see Peaceable Kingdom I hope to scan it occasionally so you can see my progress.
- December 13, 1999: Finished Band 10 and worked a couple of hours on Band 11. Should finish Band 11 tomorrow and get most of the way through band 12 and then all I have to do is finish putting in the date on New Year's Eve! Yeah! This is such a fun sampler to work on and so pretty too. I hope to scan it and put up the picture soon! And then it's back to my rotation.
- December 12, 1999: Decorated Sugar cookies with my mom today, but still managed to finish bands 8 and 9. The over one stitching wasn't bad, definitely prefer doing the over one with silk thread instead of the metallic. This is really stitching up pretty. I can't wait to finish it. Just a few more bands to go!
- December 11, 1999: Finished Band 6 and 7 after taking a 3 hour nap to recover today. Also did this in between trying to get some major Christmas baking accomplished. After the first few bands, the others are going really quickly. I really think I will get this done before the end of the year.
- December 10, 1999: Finished Band 4 and 5 today and tonight. Went to the Electrical Contractor's Christmas party with Mitch, had a great time and stayed at the hotel it was held at - we figured we couldn't beat $25.00 for an oceanfront room!
- December 9, 1999: Finished Band 2 at lunch and got through most of Band 3 this evening. This is where the first specialty stitches are, but they are easy, if I could just follow the chart correctly. Worked on it while watching Chicago Hope and catching up on some of my other shows that I recorded. This is a fun chart to work on and the silks are lovely. The colors are great. I did the over one sections and stitching with the silk was fine, but with Number 4 Braid, it was a little harder but it is done and the "1999" looks beautiful. Hope to stitch some more tomorrow, but we have a contractor's Christmas Party to go to. Oh how I just want to stay home and stitch. (All this stitching is working out great for Mitch, he has a computer game he is enthralled with so he stays busy with that and I leave him alone - except for an occasional kiss! I think we have a great system going on here!)
- December 8, 1999: Finished Band 1 and started on Band 2, ate leftovers and stitched while watching TV with Mitch. Wonderful evening, spent about 4 hours stitching, keep making small counting mistakes, oh well, this is going to be beautiful so it is worth doing right!
- December 7, 1999: Started on Last Stitches! Got most of Band 1 done last night after making several mistakes and having to frog. This is looking so pretty, I can't wait to get to the other bands. Mitch and I went out for Chinese, so that gave me more stitching time since I didn't have to cook and clean up - and the best part is there are plenty of leftovers to eat tomorrow night!
- December 6, 1999: Did not get much done over the weekend, watched football all day yesterday but only stitched a little on one of the Christmas Angels by MLI - it is the one with the Madonna and child, just don't remember what year that was. I will probably work more on it tonight since it is Elf Night on the Shepherd's Bush bulletin board (that is the night we work on Christmas ornaments or pictures). Trying to decide what to ask my husband for for Christmas, think I will give him a list of supplies I need and email addresses of my favorite shop owners! Hope everyone is having a great day!
- December 3, 1999: Oh my goodness - two days in a row! Last night I worked on Mermaid of the Pearls for about 3 1/2 hours while my husband played his computer game. I got to catch up on some of my favorite shows that I've recorded. I have pretty much finished her tail, and now I am working my way back up filling in the bubbles and some of the streamers that come off of her, then it is on to the beading! I won't finish her this rotation, unless I work more than the 10 hours. I figure I have a couple more days on her, then on to more work on Angel of the Sea or Crabapple Santa, I'm not sure which yet. I really enjoyed my stitching time last night, and I am looking forward to some more tonight after we pick out a tree. Hope everyone has a good weekend!
- December 2, 1999: Wow - a year and 10 months - I sure am doing better with this web page thing! Ha ha. Things just get the better of me and life keeps me busy. I have been in a funk for about 2 months now, kind of wandering back and forth between hobbies: quilting, cross stitching, cooking. But now I am trying to come back to cross stitching. It seems I always get this bug near Christmas when I have the least time to do anything with it! Right now I am working on Mermaid of the Pearls which is nearing completion. I am starting back with my rotation system so there will be 10 hours on each project, unless I just get so enthralled with a project I just can't stop working on it. But my stitching time will be limited with decorating for Christmas and the baking that needs to be done for Christmas gifts. I hope everyone has a joyous Advent season followed by a wonderful Christmas season! I do hope to post more often, but I won't promise. If you like my page and have ideas of what you would like to see, please let me know by email and I will work on it! Take care all! (oh - check out my newly added pictures of completed projects!)
- February 10, 1998: Wow! Has it really been that long since I have cared for my web page? Things have been really hectic at work, but I have been getting a lot of stitching done at home! Working hard with my stitching groups on Good Neighbors and Stroke of Midnight, and once again working on a model for a designer. I love every minute of time I get to cross stitch and my husband knows that if I get at least a little time in each day that I am a happier person! Take care everyone and hopefully I won't go this long without posting progress again!
- December 30, 1997: Hope everyone had a great holiday! I know I did! My new husband and I decided on an amount of money to spend on our gifts then we each ordered what we wanted! Guess what I ordered! Lots and lots of fabric, beads, threads and patterns! And my great news is that during the playoffs this past weekend, I finished TW's wedding sampler! Now to get it framed. I will now be involved with several groups starting Jan. 1, along with my many other UFOs! Have a happy new year everyone!
- December 3, 1997: Well, I'm still around and still cross stitching and still adding to the pages! I have completed a lot more on the model I am working on and now I have ideas for Christmas presents running through my head! Yes I know Christmas is only 22 days away, but they are little projects I really want to do! I'll keep you informed on how it goes!
- November 26, 1997: Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I added some more floss lists today. I have not had much time lately to cross stitch, but have gotten a little more done on the model I am working on!
- November 24, 1997: Did a lot of work around our home on Saturday, but I just relaxed on Sunday, watched the football games and cross stitched on the model I am working on. Very relaxing day, though I did not get as much done cross stitching as I wanted this weekend, it was still a great weekend!
- November 21, 1997: Wow has time flown! I am now married and I love it! We honeymooned in Gatlinburg TN and loved it and now here I am back at work and busy fixing up our new rented home! Time is still short for me, so it may be awhile before major changes are made on the webpage, but don't despair and keep checking back, and please send me suggestions. I want this to be a web page for everyone!
- October 1, 1997: Finally working on my web page again, been really busy with wedding plans! Only have one more border, the backstitch and beads to do on the wedding sampler! I want to have it done mid month so I can have it framed before the wedding.
- September 11, 1997: Today I will work on my web page, I probably won't get much stitching done because I am at work and I have a lot of wedding things to do after work.
