Tony Williams

Jethro Tull: 1978
Albums: Jethro Tull - Bursting Out (1978)

Instruments: bass guitar

He joined Jethro Tull during the Bursting Out Tour because of the illness of John Glascock. He had known the band for several, because he had played ith Barriemore Barlow and Glenn Cornick, before the joined Tull. In 1972 he formed Stealers Wheel with Gerry Rafferty & Joe Eagan and stayed in touch with Barry and they did some Tull recording sessions together. John Glascock returned to the band in 1979 but sadly died shortly afterwards. Soon after this Tull as I knew it broke up with only Martin and Ian remaining. Tony Williams and Barriemore Barlo worked on several joint and individual projects, but Tony eventually
returned to studio work and tv production. Tony no has his own PR consultancy business and spends a lot of time working with elephants at the Thailand Elephant Foundation and with Riddles Elephant Sanctuary in Little Rock.
Recently the Stealers Wheel single Stuck in The Middle has enjoyed a huge revival thanks to Reservoir Dogs so they have been busy thinking about a reunion and a dance mix version.
