Questions
- I saw a presentation where they clicked to flip
an object and then clicked to flip it back. How did they do that?!
- Okay, this one hasn't been asked frequently, but I had fun figuring
it out, so here you go. Download the
flip.ppt file to see instructions and
samples. The instructions assume you know how to apply and modify Custom
Animations (if you don't, try starting with
Text Entrance
Animations for 2003 or
Text Entrance
Animations for 2007*).

- What happened to all the layouts in PowerPoint 2007? You can't switch
graphics from left to right with a layout anymore?
- Well, yes and no. Now you have the ability to create layouts of
your own, so it is still possible to rearrange stuff using the layout,
you just have to create the layout first. If you use the two content
layout and put a picture on the right and text on the left and are wondering
if it will look better the other way around, you can create a layout
with a placeholder on the left for a picture and a content placeholder
on the right and, when applied to your slide, it will behave as the
layouts did in previous versions and switch your picture to the left.
If you want to try it out, you can download
this template*, in which I have created
many layouts similar to those from previous versions.

- When I changed the slide design, some slides didn't
change, what happened? Is there an easier way to fix it then by changing
them manually?
- If you edit a slide directly, it breaks its link to the master for
that area. If you change the font color for the title of a slide to
a color that is not part of the color scheme and then change the design,
that title color will not update to match the new design.
Reapply the slide layout and it will set everything on the slide to
the master for that slide, including the title color that didn't update
automatically.
