The hounerable General Assembley-
Whereas we, petitioners of the lower, or third
Battalion of Mecklingburg County,
Being thirty & forty miles to our Court house
We therefore lay before your hounerable
Body the great Disadvantage we labour under
in attending Elections at Such an amence Distan
ce and always in time of high waters, obstructed
by a number of large Creeks, Which Render it
impassable to attend- We therefore petition your
hounerable body, to grant us aseperate Ele
ction to be held at our Battalion Muster
Ground which wil be much to the advantage
of the people in General -& we your petition-
ers are in Duty Bound will ever pray &C
