Hello everyone! I'm 2nd Lt. Ariel "SongBird" H. Porter, hostess of this site, and the Exectutive Officer of the Mantis Veritech Squadron and leader of Squad 2 "Red" / Team 1 Leader. I fly my VF-1S "Sonata in the key of V" or just plain old "Sonata" and have a bad habit of terrorizing local cadets by screaming around base on my RDF Issue Motorcycle, which is this beautiful dark blue and silver custom job... but that's another story.
The RPG that this site is based on is the brainchild of a couple of my friends, based on the Palladium role playing game system. Ours is set during the Malcontent Uprisings of the First Robotech Wars, or to all those people not familiar with the terminology, the time period extending through the tail end of the Robotech series and into the Sentinels and Southern Cross series. Ours takes place starting during 2014, and as of now, the time is November of 2016.
RDF base 7-Asendance City is located in the Argentine reigon of the Southlands, and is a fully operational RDF base, in fact the last one fully staffed by RDF'ers alone. No Southern Cross people lay their grimy little paws on my base, d'ya hear me????? ::calms down:: Okay, now that my tiny fit is over, time to get on with the basics. There are two operational Air Force Veritech Squadrons in the 3200th Special Ops Unit, the Hellcats and Mantis squadron. (I've been on both, so they're all real nice.)
I'm the XO (Exectutive Officer, aka second top-dog) of Mantis, and my good friend and confidante, Captain Jake "Mr. Wonderful" Brown, is the CO, which is short for Commanding Officer of the Mantis Squadron. In my team...well...there's me and my "big brother" Sgt. Hikaru "Buffboy" Ichijo (oh he's gonna kill me...he HATES that callsign), the best wingman and best friend/big brother ever made. Then, floating around the squads, there's 2nd. Lt. Venom "Viper" Knight, the playboy of our crew who is the sweetest thing ever, 2nd. Lt. Max "Firestorm" Jenuis, my close friend who is a killer pilot and extremely quiet, 2nd. Lt. Maeve "Angel" Landry who is one of the only other commanding women and a great friend of mine, Captain Kyle Bartley, who just switched over to navy on us( and yes, I did win that h2h match and am still the unofficial h2h champ on base...HAH!), and my...err...umm..."friend" 2nd. Lt. Richie Hunter, the guy who mangled my poor old ankle and lived to tell the tale. He's the resident science expert, and he and I always get in bickering matches over who's got the higher rank. So what if he's command staff, I fly!
