Satyricon was formed in the summer of 1993 and is the brain child of Sigurd Wongraven(satyr).That same year satyricon released "The forest is my throne" which was later re-released as a split album with enslaved in 1996.Early in 1994 they released there first full length album entitled "Dark medievil Times".Playing a blend of fast and furious yet extremly melodic black metal Satyricon quickly rose to the top of the scene.Later that same year they released "The Shadow Throne" (with Samoth from Emperor helping out on guitars)which contained the classsic track "Hvite Krists Dod" click here to hear a small clip of it off moonfog's page.Then in 1997 came the Dawn of a New Age in black metal history with the classic "Nemesis Divina", with a blend of satyricons trademark fast guitars and melodic keyboards with a touch of nordic tradition, Satyricon painted a picture of pure fucking armageddon,and was hailed as quite possibly the best black metal album ever produced in some peoples opinions.Moonfog later released a video for "mother north" which in my opinion is one of the few good black metal videos out there.After this Satyricon released "Megiddo" which contained remixes off of "Nemesis Divina" and a brutal cover of "Orgasmatron" by Motorhead.Now the whole scene waits for the release of "Intermezzo II"(may 10th) a mcd with a remix of "nemesis devina" and a few new tracks that is giving us a chance to hear what Satyricon will release when "Rebel Extravaganza" is released September 20th.
