FAERIE FROLICS

Have you ever just sat at your window or down by a creek, and just watched and listened? If you have, then whether or not you realized it, you've probably seen or heard a Faerie flutter by.

Just tiny little people with wings, faeries are creatures of beauty and grace. Although similar to Angels, there is one easy and sure fire way to tell them apart. Their wings. Yep, it's that simple. If the wings are made out feathers, like a birds, then it's an Angel. A faerie's wings are consistent with that of a butterfly or another insects wings.

There have been several movies filmed about fairies, most recently Fairy Tale, a True Story. Now all you skeptics out there are probably saying yeah right, but its true. It tells the story of two sisters who took pictures of each other surrounded by Faeries. There parents and the press had the pictures examined by professional photographers who deemed that the pictures had not been tampered with. The girls rose to instant stardom, and people all over the world began beleiving in Faeries!! Of course when the two sisters were old women, they admitted that the simply posed with drawn cutouts held up by hat pins. But their story made famous a small town called Cottingly Glen.

There are several ways to spell Faerie. The one I use, Fairy, Fairie, Faery, etc.. I simply use this spelling because I like it the best. Plus now a days Fairy seems to point people down another road. If you don't know what I'm talking about, don't ask, your mind is innocent and I don't want to corrupt it with steroetypical name calling. (This is no way a bashing page, I'm just stating the facts!!)

FAMOUS FAERIES

There are several Faeries that have been made famous and some even household names.
* We all know and love Tinker Bell. That frolicy little gal who loved Peter Pan, but never gained his love in return. According to Tink, just think a happy thought after being sprinkled with a bit of Faerie dust, and poof, you can fly away to Never Never Land!
* Crista. This fun little Faerie was the star of the animated film Fern Gully, the Last Rain Forest. She had the abilty to make a seed grow just by touch mixed with a little love.
* Fauna, Flora, and another faerie who I just can't think of the name of, were the three Faeries that stole our hearts in Sleeping Beauty. If not for them, Aurora would have did on her sixteenth birthday. They even did without their Faerie magic for sixteen years so they could care for the young girl.
* Faerie Godmother. Without her, Princess Cinderella would still be plain old Cindy from down the road. Bibbidy Bobbidy Boo!!
* The Tooth Faerie is my personal favorite. With out her I would have never found a dollar under my pillow all those years ago just for losing my teeth. I have one question though...What on Earth does she do with all those teeth???
* Meg was the spiritful little thing who tried to steal Ton Cruise's heart away in the movie Legend. She even transformed into his one true love just to try and get a kiss.
* Morgana Le Fey was the sister to Merlin and a Faerie herself. She was also known as the Lady of the Lake and with out her Arthur would have never received Excalibur.

That's all I can think of right at the moment. If you know of any other well known Faeries please email me and let me know!
