It all began with a Flyball tournament that our "A" team attended in Memphis, TN in October 2001. Because of their fastest time (17.5), we were first alternate to attend the Flyball competition at the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge which was to be held at Centenial Park in Atlanta, GA. When one of the teams decided not to attend, we jumped at the chance to go as we love to compete.

To decide which dogs were to be on the team that competed at the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge, our team decided to have an "internal" competition at the Charlotte Flyball tournament on March 30-31, 2002. There were 11 dogs competing for the opportunity to run on this team and the dogs that were chosen were Nyk (BC), Shelby (BC), Pyp (JRT), Bree (Aussie), Joon (BC) and Myst (BC).

We went into the competition being the "underdogs" - competing against Top Dog Racers out of TX, New England Trailblazers out of VT, and Gateway Flyball out of MO. On Friday (media day) we were able to secure third place, but managed to be outraced on Saturday - taking 4th (Top Dog Racers placed 1st, New England Trailblazers placed 2nd, and Gateway Flyball placed 3rd).

Although we came in 4th, we had the time of our lives! This event was wonderfully organized and the weather was awesome (last year our team went and the weather was not so beautiful). The people who hosted the event were great and the facility was awesome. It was estimated to have 5,000-10,000 visitors that attended this event and it will be televised on TBS on September 28 at 11:00am (EST).

Below are some pictures that were taken at this event. I hope you enjoy!
