I do...

Chapter 2

*nat*

“Come on Nat, wake up baby.” Nick said tugging on the covers.

“Why.” I said as I moved and looked up at the ceiling.

“You mom called, your late.”

“Oh crap.” I said as I got up and ran to the closet to throw on something to wear.

I felt Nick put his arms around my waist as I had my t shirt off. He kissed my shoulder and then whispered into my ear.

“You know if you don’t want this just tell me and we can wait.”

“Nick, I do want this. I slept late that’s all.” I said as I ran to the bathroom to wash up a little bit.

Nick followed me in there and stood behind me looking at me though the mirror.

“No seriously we don’t have to do this.” Nick said.

“You sound like you don’t want to do this Nick. We’ll talk about this at lunch okay?” I said as I ran to the living room and picked up my purse to find my car keys.

“Okay, I’ll be there.” Nick said as I walked into the kitchen to pick up something to eat.

“How about I drive you there, so then we don’t have to worry about any cars to pick up?”

“Alright Nick. Let’s go.” I said as we ran to the car.

As we sat in the car, I looked out at the rainy weather. I started to think about Nick was trying to get me to talk about. I mean, did I want this. I know I do. But then maybe there’s something about the age thing. No, not our age thing. I mean I’m getting married at twenty. I don’t know about this. Why does Nick have to ask me this now? I mean I love him. I’ve told him that I love him. I heard him tell me that. Gee, Nick has to do this now. What if were not meant to be? No wait we have to be. I mean come on... we care about each other. And he’s just asking this for my sake right? Just in the middle of my thoughts Nick said something. Then he started to wave his hand in front of my face.

“What?” I said out of my daze.

“I was just asking you how did you like this weather that we’ve been having in the past week. But I guess you are confused about that too.”

“No, I was just thinking about what you were talking about before. I guess this weather sucks. Makes me think.” I said.

“You thinking about what I said? Man, that’s a first. Nat, really I don’t have to drive you here, we can talk about it.”

“No, I gotta do this. My mom will kill me if I don’t go look at them. I want to do this too.”

“You sure?” He asked with a look of concern over his face.

“Yeah, Gee Nick. You are really getting at me at these questions.”

“Only cause I care about you. Yesterday, you seemed like you didn’t want it. It makes me feel like when you didn’t want me that one time to hold on to you. If it is we need to talk.”

“We are Nick. And no it’s not. I don’t think it is.”

“Well here we are. Go and I’ll pick you up later.” Nick said.

“Alright Nick. I’ll see you in a few hours. Wish me luck.”

“Good luck.”

“Love you.” I said as I opened the door.

“Love you too.” He said and I closed the door.

~~*~~~*~~~*

A little while later, we finally found the dress. My mom actually like this one. It wasn’t to plain, but it was simple and I liked it a whole Lot. I was having the women fit the dress to me, so that it could be ready by the day. And then my mom ran to the front of the store. I wonder what that was all about.

*Nick*

I walked into the dress shop place, I looked around at all the dresses. I looked around for Nat, mostly. Maybe to get a peek or something. Then some weird lady came up to me.

“May I help you sir?” She asked.

“Uh. My finance is here. I’m picking her up.” I said looking at her.

“Oh, so your Natalie Sen’s finance?”

“Yeah. Where is she?” I said looking around.

“She’s in the back.” She said. I looked at her and I started to walk there. Hey, I guess maybe I do want that peek.

“Sir, you can’t see the bride now in her dress.”

“Yeah, like she picked one out yet.” I said laughing. She kept a straight face.

“Anyway, I’ll tell her you’re here.”

“Awright.” I said as she went in the back.

I started to walk around and look at the dresses. Man, if Nat can’t pick out any of these, I would love to help....

Then, just in the middle of my thoughts. Her mom came running in.

“Nick. What are you doing here?” She asked after she calmed herself down.

“Hey Ms. Sen. How are you doing? I’m here to pick up Nat to take her out to lunch. So where is she?”

“She’s in the back. But you can’t see her, I’ll tell her you’re here. Okay?”

“Alright.” I said as she ran back in.

Strange. She’s acting strange.

*Nat*

My mom came back in. She ran in.

“Hey mom. What’s with the running?” I asked.

Stepping out of that dress that we finally chose and putting on my clothes. This is great to be finally out of that damn dress.

“Nicks Here.”

“Oh. Were going out to lunch. I guess since finally I found one that we both liked. I can go home right mom?”

“Yeah. First we have to pay for it. I think I’ll take it home.”

“Why mom. Or do I not bother to ask?”

“Cause you live with Nick. And he might want to see it. That is bad luck you know.”

“So? Gee mom. You act like this is something that’s not going to work. Gee.”

“Well you never know.”

“Alright mom. I’m going to go see Nick now. I’ll talk to you tomorrow.”

“You and Nick are coming to lunch with your moms right?”

“Oh yeah. We’ll be there.” I said getting sick of what she was saying. I walked out and saw Nick looking at the white see threw teddy’s.

“Gee someone’s horney.”

Nick quickly turned around and looked at me.

“Well you know..” He said. I smiled and came up to him.

“You want one?” I asked.

“Nah. I got one.” He said as he gave me a hug and pulled me in a real quick kiss.

“Awe, aren’t we just the sweetie?” I said looking at him. He smiled.

“You ready to go?”

“Yeah.” I said. Just then my mom came out from the back with my dress. She saw Nick standing there and she put the bag down and ran over to us.

“You two leaving?” She asked.

“Yeah. Come on Nick, we better go before you see my dress. God forbid.”

He laughed as we walked out of the store.

*Nick*

“So what does this dress look like?” I asked her. Just hoping that she would give in.

“Take five guesses. I’ll tell you yes or no. Good?” wow she’s going to let me guess!

“Is it white?”

“Wow you are smart Nick! Yes. It is white. Four more.”

“Let me think. Does it look good on you? Does it?”

“Yes and yes.” She said smiling.

“Alright, is it something that I would like to see you in?”

“Yeah.”

“Okay, is it easy to take off? For you know.”

“Nope. Questions over.”

“What that was only... oh. Damn!” I said as we drove to lunch.

When we got there, we sat down in a booth, and we ordered food, and ate it. Then I had to ask her that question again.

“So, we need to talk about that question I asked you last night. Nat, do YOU want this?”

She looked at the table, her eyes looked away from mine. “I do, it’s just...” She said as she started to cry. I walked over to her and put my hands on her shoulders.

“Can I tell you something?” I asked her as she looked at me.

“Go on ahead.”

“I was thinking about this and then I was thinking, I know that I love you, it’s just that maybe, were going into this to fast. And then our parents are the ones pushing us. So you want to wait another year. You know this is our decision.”

“I know it is. But what’s going to happen? I mean I love you Nick, with everything. It’s just my mom was talking about all this stuff happening to us. And she did it every time we went to look for a dress. Now, I found it and maybe we should wait. I want to but I don’t want to fall away from you.”

“Your not going to Nat. We can work on getting to know each other more. I love you, there’s nothing that is going to take me away from that baby. We can get closer in a year. So, you want to get married next year on Halloween?”

“Yeah.” She said as she put her head on my chest.

“Don’t cry. We can tell our mom’s tomorrow.”

“I’m sorry Nick.”

“Nattie, don’t worry about it. We both feel the same way about this isn’t that good?”

She looked at me and smiled. Probably because I called her nattie.

We went home and went in the living room. We turned on the t.v and sat together. I put my arms around her and smelled in her perfume. This was love. We just need more time. And not to be pushed into it.
