~*~*Chapter 53*~*~
"Hold still," the seamstress said as Brian twitched his leg. He had been standing there for so long and his legs had fallen asleep a while ago. Just then the phone rang.
' Saved by the bell ' he mused to himself.
"Brian! It's for you!" his mother called. He made his way over to the phone, careful not to ruin the pins that were in his pants.
"Hello?" he asked.
"Brian?" asked a sobbing Monica.
"Monica? What's wrong?"
"It's Heather. Can you come down to the Orlando Hospital?"
"Why? Where is she?!?" Brian asked in panic.
"Just get over here, now," she said before hanging up.
"Who was that?" Nick asked and came up to Brian.
"It was Monica. I need to get down to the hospital, quick!" Brian said and sprinted to his car, still in his suit.
"I'm coming with you!" Nick called.
A million thoughts ran through Brian's mind as he sped to the hospital, going two times as fast as the law instructed him to. He ran into the hospital and found Monica sitting in the waiting room.
"Where is she?" was the first thing that escaped Brian's lips. He sat down in the chair.
"Don't worry. The doctor said she is going to be fine," Monica told him. A wave of relief washed over Brian's body.
"Then where is she?" Nick asked.
"The doctors are running some tests on her," Monica said. Just then Brian looked down the corridor and saw a haggard Heather coming toward him.
"Heather!" Brian said when he saw her. He gave her a big hug. "What happened? Are you alright?" he asked.
"Yes, I'm fine. Can you guys go get the car? I'm tired," Heather said to Brian and Nick. She watched the two of them disappear into the parking lot.
"Heather, what happened?" Monica asked her. A silent tear trickled down her cheek as she dictated the doctors words.
"Omigod," Monica said, with a hand over her heart.
"Monica, don't tell anyone!" Heather pleaded. Just then Brian's car pulled up and they climbed in. They sat quietly the whole way home.
Brian helped Heather out of the car once he had dropped off Monica and Nick.
"Could you please tell me what the doctor said?" Brian asked.
"No, not right now, Brian. I'm not ready,"
Heather said with a tear. She laid down on the couch and soon fell asleep. Her parents were pretty upset about the whole ordeal, but calmed down a bit when Brian told them that the doctor said she would be fine. Brian walked into the living room and sat on the floor in front of Heather on the couch. He gently stroked her cheek until she woke up. A smile spread across her lips when she saw him.
"Hey you," Brian said. He sat down next to her. A few minutes of silence and then Heather spoke.
"I'm ready," Heather said and looked him in the eye.
"Me too," Brian said and prayed for good news. Heather sighed and picked up Brian's hand and placed it on her stomach.
"We're pregnant," she whispered.
"What?!?"
"We're going to have a baby," she said, once again, tears streaming her cheeks. Brian reached over and picked Heather up and threw her in the air.
"You're serious?!" he asked as tears of his own came to surface. She answered with a nod.
"I love you so much," Heather cried onto his shoulder.
"I love you, too!" he said and looked into the eyes of the woman he loved for eternity. The only woman that he wanted to be the mother of his child. All of his dreams came true that day.
THE END
