Monica slowly walked down the stairs into the kitchen, where she saw Nick eating a bowl of cereal and reading the sports section of the newspaper. She stood there watching him until he looked up and saw her.
"Oh, hey Mon," he said nonchalantly.
"Morning," she said and reached for the cereal.
"Mon, I promised my parents that I would go down to see them today," Nick said. Monica tried not to look disappointed.
"Oh, ok. I'll just chill around here then," she replied.
"Why don't you come with me? It will be fun, ok?" Nick asked. Monica hesitated before saying yes. They sat there, eating their breakfast in silence.
"Nick, I'm gonna head home and get a few things, ok? Should I bring anything?" Monica asked, grabbing her keys.
"Yea, your bathing suit!" Nick called as she walked out the door.

Brian gently stroked Heather's hair out of her face as they lay there quietly in each other's arms. It was mid afternoon and they made no attempt to get up. Tomorrow morning was there 16 hour flight back to Orlando. All the Backstreet Boys had agreed on throwing a party in honor of their US tour before they left.
"Brian, we should pack," Heather said as she slipped on the clothes she wore the night before.
"Right now?" Brian whined.
"Yes, right now." Heather demanded.
"Alright, Alright. I'm coming," Brian said and grabbed his suitcase.
An hour later, their room looked as if no one had even been staying in there.
"I'm so glad I spent the best couple of days in my life with you," Brian said honestly.
"It was my pleasure," Heather said and kissed him. Again and again......

Monica noticed a car parked in her driveway as she rounded the corner.
"Oh, no," she muttered when she saw Josh welcoming her.
"Baby!" he said to her when she stepped out of the car. Monica forced a smile on her face as Josh gave her a kiss.
"I have the whole day planned for us, Mon!" Josh said. Mon. Nick always called her that.
' Get him out of your head! ' she racked to her brain. Josh droned on and on about 'their day of fun' but Monica paid no attention.
"Josh, I promised a friend that I would do something today," Monica said wavily.
"Oh. That's ok, then. We'll do something tomorrow then, ok?" Josh pleaded. Monica nodded just as the phone rang.
"Hello?" she asked.
"Hey, Mon. Where are you? We need to get going. I'll pick you up since it's on the way," Nick said.
"Oh, Nick. Hi. Do you know where I live?" she asked him. She looked over at Josh who was hovering over her. She told Nick the directions and he said he would be over there in a matter fifteen minutes.
"Who was that?" Josh asked when she hung up the phone.
"That was Nick," she said idely.
"Who's that?" Josh asked.
"My friend," Monica repeated.
"Oh. Is that who you're spending the day with?" Josh asked.
"Yup. Open the the door when he comes, ok? I'll be upstairs!" she said as she went upstairs to get ready for her day at the Carters.

Brian and Heather strolled hand in hand along the many local shops in Hawaii.
"So what do you think about this whole Nick and Monica thing?" Brian asked. Heather shrugged.
"I think it's cool. It's so obvious that they like each other," Heather said. Brian nodded and laughed.
"What about that guy Josh?" Brian asked.
"To tell you the truth, I don't really like him all that much. I could picture her with a guy that doesn't care what the world thinks of him. Someone spontaneous that would match her personality."
"Someone like Nick." Brian finished for her. Heather nodded in total agreement. She spotted an ice cream place down the street. They both agreed on having one banana split and sharing it. Brian ate most of it.
"Brian, you have ice cream on your lip," Heather laughed. Brian searched for napkins, but they didn't have any on the table.
"Wait a minute, Bri." Heather said. She gave him a long kiss. "Why use napkins?" Heather said with a smile.

~*~*Chapter 44*~*~
"Turn left on Teffire Drive, second house on the left," Nick said to himself as he searched for Monica's house.
"Found it!" he said. He turned off the ignition and walked up the driveway and knocked softly on the door. A man of 6 ft. answered the door.
"May I help you?" the man asked rudely to Nick.
"Maybe. Do you by any chance know a Monica Sullivan?" Nick asked, very embarrassed.
"Nick, hi!" Monica said when she walked into the living room.
"Hey, girl!" he said.
"Bye, Josh!" Monica said as she walked out to Nick's Durango with Nick at her side.
"Not even a kiss good-bye?" Josh asked. Before she could answer, Josh pressed his lips onto Monica's. She tried to squirm out of his grasp, but her efforts were useless. She looked and saw Nick standing with his hands in his pockets, looking at the ground. Monica ended the kiss by pushing Josh away.
"Let's go, Nick." Monica said and jumped into his car.
"Bye, nice meeting you," Nick said to Josh.
"Yea...." Josh mumbled as they drove down the street.

"So what do you want do now?" Brian asked Heather when they finished their ice cream. Both of them were sad about leaving the next day, but they still tried to make the best of their vacation. The sun was just about to slip past the big black quilt of black sky, so they decided to take a walk along the beach. They chatted about how their vacation went, from the time they got lost from their tour group to the present that Brian gave her on her birthday. It all seemed like a dream, a dream that neither one of them wanted to wake up from.
"I'm so excited about the tour," Heather said.
"It's not all that glamorous," Brian replied.
"Well, you'll have me!" Heather joked.
"Yea, but not a lot of privacy."
"Oh, who cares. As long as we're together, thats all that matters," Heather said and pulled Brian closer to her and kissed him.
