Bumping into love Ch. 25 & 26

~*~*Chapter 25*~*~

Heather stole a glance at Brian, who was busy munching on the peanuts that the flight attendant had given them.

"What?" Brian asked when he noticed Heather looking at him.

"Nothing."

"No, what?" Brian asked repeatedly.

"Nothing," Heather said with a smile. The only way for Heather to tell him was if Brian tickled her. Heather squirmed in her seat to avoid him. Her foot flew up in the air and kicked the seat in front of her, causing the seat to fly forward.

"I'm soo sorry," Heather said apologetically to the elderly woman in the seat before her.

"It's ok, dear. I was wild like that when I first got married, also." the woman said.

"We're not-" Heather began.

"Listen, I understand." With that, the woman turned back around. Brian started to laugh because he thought it was funny that the lady figured they were married. He tried to picture them married. They would have 3 kids with a white picket fence. He looked into her eyes and saw the person he wanted to grow old with.

The rest of the flight flew by like lightning. They managed to escape the airport with no fan encounters, amazingly. They drove to Brian's house and found Nick sitting on the couch, watching TV.

"B-Rok! Your back! Hey Heather," Nick said, slapping Brian on the back. They told him about their quick trip. Heather's head ached from jetlag.

"Brian, do you have any aspirin?" She rubbed her head.

"Plane gettin to ya, huh?" Nick asked. Heather nodded.

"Why don't you go lay down on my bed?" Brian offered her, handing her the Advil. He took her hand and led her to his room. He laid her down on his waterbed and stroked her throbbing head.

"Feel better, sweetie," Brian said as he brushed his lips over hers. He left the room and shut the door quietly behind him. He returned back downstairs and plopped on the couch.

"So how was your trip, Bri?" Nick asked.

"Great. We had a fight though."

Nick eyes widened. "How did that happen?"

"She overheard us talking on the phone. She heard me say that I was leaving, so she thought I was leaving HER. She wouldn't talk to me." Brian remembered.

"Woah!"

"Luckily, we made up. She looked so beautiful at the graduation. And also, this lady on the plane thought we were married." Brian spoke 100 words per minute.

"So how is it?" Nick asked.

"How's what?"

"You know....." Nick implied.

"Nick! Is that all you think about?" He picked up a pillow and threw it at Nick.

"Brian, c'mon. She's obviously beautiful and you told me what happened in the dressing room....." Nick went on. Brian sighed.

"I want to take things slow. I want to wait for the right time." Brian's thoughts went wild as he talked. When would be the right time?

~*~*Chapter 26*~*~

Heather opened her eyes and looked around the room. She was at Brian's.

"It's good to be home," Heather said with a relief. Where was Brian? She laid her head back down on Brian's pillows. She breathed in the smell of his hair on the pillows before sitting up and stretching. She placed her feet over the edge of the bed and landed on something hard.

"OWWWW!!" someone screamed.

"Brian?!?" Heather asked.

"I was Brian until you smushed my stomach! I don't think there's anymore Brian left!" he said, sitting up to her level. She moved over on the bed and pulled him forward.

"Lay up here with me," she said before Brian fell asleep in her arms.

The next morning Brian woke up to an empty spot next to him.

"Heather?" Silence. He wandered downstairs and found her at the kitchen table, engrossed in a Seventeen magazine.

"Hey," he said, kissing her cheek.

"Someone called for you. I left the number on the counter." Heather said.

Brian nodded and dialed the number and listened as the person on the other end of the line rambled on and on. A few minutes later he hung up the phone with a forlorn look on his face.

"What?" Heather asked.

"Bad news. I have to go to Europe in 2 days."

"For how long?"

"Two months," Brian said.

"That long?" Heather managed to choke out. Brian nodded. It was June. He would be back at the end of August.

"Look at the bright side, Brian. You'll be back for my birthday," Heather said, trying to cheer up the situation. Her birthday was the 2nd day in September.

"Have you ever been to an island?" Brian asked suddenly.

"No, why?"

"That's what I'm going to do. For your birthday, I'm taking you to Hawaii.

The next two days were spent together. They would not leave each others sides. They promised each other that there would be no crying when the day finally came.

The plane was now boarding. They hugged each other tightly.

"I'm going to miss you so much," Brian whispered.

"Write to me, ok?" she asked with a tear in her eye.

"No crying!" Brian reminded her as a tear trickled down her cheek.

"Brian, I'm gonna miss you, too! I love you so much," she said, her tears flowing freely now. They stood there in the lobby, holding each other. Nick tapped Brian on the shoulder.

"Brian, let's go," Nick said. They said their final goodbyes and parted. She watched him walk through the terminal.

"I love you," she whispered through her tears as he vanished from sight for the next two months.
