Loving you: Always and Forever

Chapter 6

"That's all of it?" Heather asked late that night. She looked around and saw all of her belongings in the corner, packed away delicately into ceiling-high piles of boxes.

"Yup," Nick said, wiping the sweat that appeared on his forehead. "Now do we have to go to Brian's house and pack his stuff?" Nick asked.

"Yeah, but not tonight! I'm wiped!" Brian said, flopping down onto the couch. Kevin looked at his watch.

"Yeah, it's getting late. We better go," he said, and stood up.

"Thanks, Kev. See you tomorrow," Heather said, giving him a hug. AJ and Howie soon followed Kevin, leaving Nick and Monica with Brian and Heather.

"What time should we go to your house, Bri?" Monica asked.

"Um, probably around 10:00 tomorrow morning," Brian said.

"Yo, Bri. Do you mind if we crash here for tonight?" Nick asked. "I'm too tired to drive," he added with a laugh.

"Yeah, we dont mind!" Brian said and wrapped an arm around Heather.

"I'll sleep on the couch," Monica said and grabbed the couch pillow and the blanket that was draped over the arm of the couch.

"Hey, where do I sleep?" Nick asked, jokingly pouting.

"The couch pulls out. Mon, help me," Heather said. The girls silently pulled out the bed while Brian and Nick searched the house for sheets.

"Hon, we don't have any sheets," Brian said when he returned in the living room.

"Oh, that's ok. Nick and I could use this," Monica said, pointing out the blanket.

"Ok then. We'll be upstairs if you need us," Brian said, walking up the stairs with Heather, holding hands.

Heather snuggled deep into Brian's embrace as they laid together in bed that night, together in the dark, neither one of them asleep.

"Brian, I have a question," Heather said, breaking the silence.

"Yeah," he whispered while gently placing soft kisses on her neck.

"Are you happy? I mean, with getting married and the baby and all..."Heather trailed off while gently rubbing her stomach.

"Of course, Heather! You know I love you with all of my heart and soul and I would do anything for you and the baby," Brian whispered. He placed a hand on top of her own. Heather moved out of Brian's embrace and placed his hands on her stomach.

"I love you too, Brian. But did you think about your fans? I mean, they obviously know about the wedding because you asked me on national television, but they don't know about the baby," Heather said. Brian placed a hand on her lips to silence her. He tilted her face up to his.

"Don't worry. Right now, the fans are the last thing on my mind. All I want to worry about now is you, me, and our baby," Brian said, and sealed it with a kiss.

The next two weeks flew by like cars in the fast lane. Over the course of the two weeks, they had managed to pack everything in both Heather's and Brian's house, so it would be ready by their moving day. They were moving to a secluded house, surrounded by a meadow in the front and a sparkling lake in the back. It was everything that they had dreamed of.

"Heather! Get up! It's moving day!" Brian exclaimed and scooped her up in his arms.

"Brian!" she laughed as he let her down in the chair next to the bed.

"Listen. I don't want you to pick up anything heavy, ok?" Brian asked when they were downstairs.

"Brian, I'm pregnant, not disabled!" Heather joked. Brian cracked a smile.

"Seriously. I don't want you to hurt anything," he said, and patted her stomach. He pulled up and kissed her.

"Don't worry. I'll be fine. And also, don't forget about the appointment today."

"Heather, could you hand me that box?" Harold, Jr. asked. Heather nodded and handed him the box without much difficulty.

"Thanks," he said.

"Yup. Harold, I have to go now. Can you call Brian at his house and tell him to meet me at the Doctors?" Heather asked.

"Sure."

"He's loading furniture into the truck at his house. Call his cell phone," Heather added, and left to go to the doctor.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Where is he?" Heather asked herself in the waiting room.
"Heather Mason?" the nurse called, interrupting Heather from her thoughts.
"Right here," Heather replied, grabbing her stuff and walking towards her room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Is everything OK?" Heather asked when the doctor was done examining her.

"Everything is just fine," the doctor reassured her with a smile. Heather smiled, feeling the nervousness in her stomach dissolve into nothing. She liked this doctor, her normal doctor, Dr. Moore, had gone on vacation, leaving a women in her early thirties in charge of his tasks.

"How are you feeling? I noticed you were a little tense when you first came in here," Dr. Brown said.

"I'm feeling fine! I rarely get sick, well, on occasion I do, but that's basically it."

"That's great. How's everything at home?" Dr. Brown asked. Heather frowned.

"Uh-oh. What's the frown about?"

"My fiancè. He said he'd come and he never showed up," Heather said, feeling tears come to her eyes.

"I'm sure he didn't mean it," Dr. Brown said, trying to cheer her up. "Heather, you can tell me. I am more than just your doctor, I want to be your friend." Dr. Brown placed a hand over Heather's and Heather quickly wiped the tear that had fallen down her cheek. She nodded.

"So, when are you getting married?" Dr. Brown asked, changing the subject.

"Tomorrow," Heather replied and her heart grew.

"Oh, I wish you the best of luck," Dr. Brown said.

"I do have a few more questions," Heather said, making herself a little more comfortable.

"Brian, will you please answer your phone? It's been ringing off the hook all day!" Nick complained when he heard Brian's cell phone ring again.

"Nick, I have to get this done," Brian said. Nick and Brian were at the new house, the two of them unpacking box after box into the new house. Brian insisted that the house be perfect for Heather on their wedding night.

After about an hour, the two of them stood back and admired what they had done. The furniture was all in place, not to mention a tiny magnet on the refridgerator saying, "Home Sweet Home."

Both of them jumped at the sound of Brian's cell phone.

"Answer it," Nick demanded. Brian laughed. ' Who would be calling me at 10:30?' he asked himself.

"Hello?"

"Brian, it's Harold."

"Hey, bro. What's up?"

"Nothing. Have you talked to Heather at all today?" Harold asked.

"Yeah, this morning. Why?" Brian asked.

"Uh-oh. I suggest that you come back here now," Harold warned him. Brian was about to say something when he heard a click on the other end.

"Harold said we should head back now," Brian said. Nick nodded and Brian locked the door, and hopped into Nick's Durango and drove fifteen minutes back to Orlando.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Where the hell were you?!?" Monica demanded as soon as Brian and Nick walked into the house.
"What's the matter with you?" Nick asked of his girlfriend, who looked more than angry.
"Where's Heather?" Brian asked, trying to get out of the room before a potential argument broke loose.
"Upstairs in her room. I doubt she'll let you in," Monica said.
"What? Why? Is she sick again?" Brian asked with worry.
"No, she's a little upset, that's all."
"Why? What did I do?" Brian asked, confused.
"It's what you didn't do, Brian."
"What are you---Shit! I can't believe I forgot!" Brian exclaimed, slapping his hand across his forehead. Nick still looked confused, but he acted as if he knew.
"Brian, you have to talk to her," Nick said, hoping he said the right thing.
"I will," Brian said and walked upstairs. Oh, and Monica? Tell Nick what's going on," he replied, laughing as he went up the stairs.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Heather, I am soo soo sorry. Please let me in," Brian pleaded.

"How could you forget?" Heather asked him.

"I got sidetracked. Please let me in," he said, banging on the door. "Baby, please." He tried the door again, but it remained locked.

"That's it," Brian said. He walked to the end of the hallway and took a deep breath. He ran and charged as fast as he could, ramming into the door.

"Brian? What the hell are you doing?" Heather asked when she heard a thud.

"I'm coming in." His sentence was followed by another thud. Heather opened the door in time for Brian to come ramming right towards the once closed door. He flew into the room, toppling Heather over and falling on top of her.

"OWWW, Brian!" Heather cried and rolled onto her side, holding her stomach.

"Omigod! Are you ok?" Brian asked.

"Yeah, we're fine." Heather replied, rubbing her stomach.

"I didn't mean to miss the appointment, I swear. I am soo sorry," Brian said. Heather sat there in silence. "I feel so bad. Please, baby. Talk to me," Brian begged.

"Brian, do you know how many times I told you about the appointment?" she said softly. "It was only an appointment, but this really means a lot to me. If you didn't show up this time, how do I know that you won't do it again?" Heather said in a barely audible whisper. Brian put a finger on her chin and tilted her face up to his.

"I promise you, Heather. I will write it in blood if that's what I have to do to make u believe me. Heather, I love you and this baby means the world to me. Our baby," Brian finished. His crystal blue eyes seemed to show all of his emotion, and Heather couldn't help but break down and cry over the sweet things he had said.

"Brian, I love you," Heather cried, throwing her arms around his neck and holding him close.

"So, tell me. What did the doctor say?" Brian asked.

"Dr. Moore is away on vacation, so Dr. Brown was his replacement. She's extremely sweet and has a couple of kids of her own. She gave me her card. And she also said that we are doing fine," Heather said, looking down at her stomach. Brian smiled.

"That's great! But what about Dr. Moore?" Brian asked as they crawled into bed.

"I think I may switch to Dr. Brown. I really like her."

"OK, good. Dr. Moore was beginning to scare me!" Brian said, thinking back to the day they saw Dr. Moore the first time.

"Good night Brian, I love you," Heather said, resting her head on Brian's chest.

"Good night Heather. I will love you always. And forever." He said, and quickly fell asleep.
