Lving you: Always and Forever

Chapter 3

"Good morning, honey," Brian said to Heather when she woke up and joined them downstairs. He placed a kiss on her cheek.

"Morning," she said. She sat at the kitchen table with Brian and Mrs. Littrell silently, until Brian's beeper went off.

"I'll be right back," he told them. They watched them leave in silence.

"So, how are you feeling?" Mrs. Littrell asked Heather. Heather sighed.

"Not too great," she replied, patting her stomach.

"Oh, you got the morning sickness going?" Jackie remembered. Heather nodded and stood up.

"Aww, look at your stomach!" Jackie exclaimed.

"What?" Heather asked and looked down.

"It's getting big already?!? Is that supposed to happen so soon?!" Heather asked, a tint of worry in her voice.

"Well...what month are you on?" Jackie asked.

"I'll be going on my fourth in about two weeks," Heather said.

"Yea, you're right on schedule." Jackie replied with a smile. Heather felt a glow of happiness overcome her as she looked at her slightly-swelled stomach.

'Everything is happening all at once! The wedding, the baby--' Heather thought.

"Jackie?"

"Yes, dear?"

"Umm..if we get married in October and I'm looking like this now, how do you think I'd fit in my dress?" Heather asked.

"Ooh! We never thought about that!" Jackie said. The dress was a very beautiful dress, with white lace covering the entire dress, hiding the white silk underneath. It had a slim stomach, which Heather would not fit into due to her pregnancy.

"Hey, I'm back!" Brian said as he saw them, sitting in the living room deep in thought.

"What?" he asked after a few minutes of silence. Heather stood up so Brian could see the bubble beneath her shirt. His blue eyes widened.

"I guess we have to get married as soon as possible!" Brian said after they told him about their little dilemma.

"We'll talk about it with everyone else, ok?" Jackie said.

A gust of warm breeze flooded through Nick's open window. He pulled the covers more around himself, and also around his sleeping beauty next to him. Nick looked at the clock and it read 10:15. He had to be out of the house by 11 to meet Brian and the rest of the guys at the tailors. He gave Monica a soft kiss on the cheek and tiptoed to the bathroom.

"Where are you going?" Monica asked waking up.

"Oh, morning sweetie." He walked back over to her and gave her a long, passionate kiss.

"Morning," she said smiling.

"I was going in the shower. Care to join me?" he asked with a devilish grin.

"Nick. I've joined you for the past eight hours!" Monica exclaimed with a laugh. She punched him playfully in the stomach. Nick shrugged.

"It was worth a shot!" he exclaimed and hopped in the shower. Monica looked around the room at the candles that had blown out over the course of the night. Monica smiled as she remembered the events of the night before as she slipped on her clothes from the previous day. She wandered into the kitchen and poured herself a glass of milk and made a bagel. She looked out the window and her eyes landed on the sparkling Florida ocean.

'Brian has a remarkable view!' she thought to herself. She wanted to move into a house on the ocean, but didn't have the money. 'It's a shame Brian is selling it.' She thought again.

As she waited for Nick to come out of the shower, Monica picked up the phone and dialed Heather's number.

"Hello?" Heather's voice filled the phone.

"Hey, Heath. It's me." she said.

"Oh, hey. What's up?" Heather asked.

"Nothing really. Wanna do something today?" Monica said.

"Well, I have to get fitted for my dress again. We're moving the wedding to the end of August." Heather said.

"What?!? Why?!" Monica asked, choking on her bagel.

"My stomach. I doubt Brian would want a whale for a bride walking down the aisle."

"Oh. Well, I'll see if Nick would take me over when he gets out of the shower, ok?" Monica asked.

"Ok. See ya soon!" Heather said and hung up.
