Building A dual Processor MONSTER! This article was written by George
If you want to build a dual Prosessor Monster like mine, read on. First of all you will need to buy a motherboard that supports dual athlon's, Socket A of course. You have three choices: Tyan S2460 okay board I own one, for some reason it wont work with athlon MP's hmmm. a dual processor that is recommended for MPs but only takes XPs. I have it running on a single XP 1800+. And an MSI Dual board which I have never tried. And the best motherboard I have ever dealt with. This board is the ASUS A7M266-D this board works single with any athlon socket A pros. and dual with any athlon MP, however you can run it dual with any athlon socket A pros. The only pros you have to tweak to get it to run dual is the XP You have to paint an L1 jumper with conductive paint. I will write a how-to soon on doing that. After choosing your MOBO (mother board) you need to get a prosessor. I am running a dual Athlon MP 1800+. those go for around 190 bucks online. You can also step up and get the 1900+, 2000+, 2100+, and 2200+, If you decide to choose the Asus. After deciding which prosessors to use you will need to buy a large case with a huge PSU (power supply) I recommend an ANTEC case the large server, alienware looking case. Buy it without the PSU and go out and buy a 400 W psu. After installing all of those components, into your computer, Learn how to do this at Build a computer you will need to shop for ram. You have to buy Registered DDR E100 RAM! This is expensive, for a gig I paid $400 (usd). after installing the ram, the rest is like a normal computer, i recommend buying a geforce 4 mx, a 40 gig HDD, Dvd and CDRW, modem, Nic, and thats all the sound card already comes with the asus.
