When I say "I am a Christian"
I'm not shouting "I'm saved"
I am whispering "I was lost!"
"That is why I chose His way"

I don't speak of this with pride
I'm confessing that I stumble
Needing God to be my guide

Is This The Way It Must Be?

When I am nice and sweet
I’m taken for granted.

When I am compliant and give in
I’m taken advantage of.

When I am a doormat
I get stepped on.

When I am difficult
I am taken into account.

When I won’t compromise
I am respected.

When I am demanding and angry
Others differ to me.

When I am most tough
Others listen up.

Is this the way it must be?
Must I become what I don’t want to be?
To get what I want, to have what I need?
To be me?

When I felt a lack of beauty,
You reminded me of the
inner beauty you gave me.
When I was unworthy,
You showed me your love and
instilled worth in me.
When I wept over my sins,
You forgave me.
When I tried and failed,
You filled the gap.
When I had nothing to offer,
You saw potential in me.
When others did not seem to care,
You adopted me as your child,
and you treasured me as your own.

He is teaching her arithmetic, he said it was his mission,

And as he added smack by smack in sweet satisfaction,
She sweetly gave the kisses back and said,
